HP Pavilion dv5-1125nr entertainment PC Notebook
no OS stated, is this XP?
my guess you are using the HP backup or ?some HP software to do that, you never said.
the day to do that is day1, not 10 years later
you will end of with a useless disk in any case.
back new in 2008, long ago, the Laptop has this card inside,
instructions saying to make a recover disk, now,
that will work then, but now, 9 years later.?
how can it?
if XP its a corrupted OS and now is not supported.
same now with VISTA.
your PC came new with Vista or 7 (both 32 bit or 64)
what is there NOW.
the building a recovery disk needs all things perfect.
1: OS not corrupted,
2: recovery partition not corrupted or missing
3: DVD drives still good, and correct media used.
4: Driver for the DVD must be correct. from HP.
5: HDD must be bad, and passes the S.M.A.R.T tests.
one trick to get there is push the F11 key.
that is the HP recovery magic key (power on hammer f11,,, bam)
then recovery the OS then make the recovery disk.
now that the OS is ok , the DVD-r (or what it needs) will work.
if the F11 key fails, that means the HDD is bad or the recovery partition is corrupted, as most are this old.. 9 long years later.
