Constantly goes to "linking" whenever I select Sirius. Sirius tells me that means an antenna problem. However, I have tried a new antenna with the same results.

I have a motorhome with a Clarion SIR CL1 receiver that only shows Linking when I put it on Sirius. I have talked to Sirius and they tell me that the antenna is the problem or that the antenna is blocked. I acquired a new antenna and tried it with the same result. What to do?

The unit needs to be replaced. solder pins on the PC board of the unit are broken. Clarion has about 100,000 of these units with the same problem. You can find a replacement online for $50 that's been fixed & the problem should not re-occur. Sorry for the bad news. Hope this helps

Have sirius and hands free phone features with sirius antennae. I do not get good signals from local FM or AM Radio stations. Why?

Sirius is a satellite biased service , so it uses a satellite antenna , local stations how ever don't use that antenna and use a dipole antenna , are both type antenna's connected to your radio , lots of installers don't bother to connect local antenna to new radio installs , im mean you got Sirius why'd you want local stuff anyway is there thinking

I have a 750Li and for the past week have been having issues with the satellite radio. I have contacted Sirius they have check everything on their end. The sound goes away and the channel selection

if its jjust the sound and the title of song that goes away (not static) then yes id say have a look at your antenna , sometimes for folks that go thru a lot of auto car washes the antenna s develop a small leak thats near undetectable , except that signal comes and goes that is , yours should be easy removal using a small screwdriver , any sign of crust or water stains inside , replace it !!

Radio shows antenna not deteted or acquiring signal but does not work . antenna and all connections are good, ??

The problem is likely the actual connection inside the Starmate. It sounds like you have tried alternate antennas, which can only mean the unit itself has an issue. What has likely happened is the antenna jack inside the radio has come loose and is no longer making a connection, in which case it could be repairable. Otherwise there are plenty of other 12v Sirius receivers compatible with the same connections if you are looking to replace the head unit.

Clairon CMD4 has been installed in boat for several seasons and has been working. Tried to operate for this season and I am constantly getting ''linking'' message on radio. Called Sirius to resend signal...

Linking is usualy a antenna problem but you can try disconecting power lines to satelite reciever not just head unit for 30 sec and reconect let it reboot and see if it picks up signal! It is important to make sure complete power from batt is disconected to do complete reset! You should be able to see ESN # on channell 0 or get 184 to make sure u are connecting with sattelite! Then it is sirius sat problem!

My sirius portable radio keeps displaying "no antenna detected" but it's plugged in.

Several possiblities: one: antenna really is bad - borrow a friends Sirius or XM antenna and plug it into the base and see if the message goes away -if it does, replace antenna; if not, then your 'dock' or base could be bad - try removing and reinstalling the radio or try another base. If another base and antenna don't solve it, then the radio is shot and it's time for a new one. Customer service will ususally give you a great deal on a new XM radio IF you agree to keep it for 1 year. Let me know how it goes.

Our new motorhome came with a sirius ready Jensen vr187 radio-how do we hook up to Sirius, and does it need an antenna, or is that part of ''sirius ready''?

Sirius Ready means that there is another piece the company makes that is for sale seperately from the reciever. you need to get the whole sirius system and it will just plug in and play through your existing setup.

Sirius satellite radio constantly shows "acquiring signal"

it could be the connection on the back of the reciever that could be bad. I would call sirius and see if your reciever is under warranty still, if not i can almost garauntee that your tuner antenna input is bad, if your antenna is brand new.

Signal Fading In and out

Most of the Xact models use the standard Sirius antenna. Unfortunately Xact no longer supports satellite radios. You can get a replacement antenna from any Sirius dealer and see if that works. Sounds like the antenna wiring might be broken or shorted out.
