Hi: Is your freezer so full it's blocking the vents? If so unblock the vents. If not put your food in a cooler, frozen and fresh. Unplug your refrigerator. Take a hair dryer to the back of the freezer to melt frost accumulated behind the panel. I know it's supposed to be frost free. You have a problem with the defrost heater or the timer. The frost is blocking the vents. Most likely it is the later, but if you see no frost it could be the circulating fan. The location of these will be in your parts list. Kenmore still gives these with their products. If you don't have it go to sears.com and use parts direct. They will have a diagram. I hope this helps, Jeff By the way, If you are not handy just do the hair dryer thing and it will work for a weed or two until the frost plugs it up again.

My 18 year old refrigerator GE model TFX24FG freezer side is not keeping food frozen. Refrigerator side seems to be working normally.

The refrigerator side is at present working properly , but slowly slowly, it will also loose its cooling. This will happen because, freezer side is the side which cools first, then the refrigerator side ( also called as fridge side)., gets cooled. If freezer side is not cooling / freezing properly then fridge side will also loose its cooling ability.------------ And later on both section will loose its cooling.----------- As per the present situation, it indicates problem with compressor or problem with freezer side door not closing properly.---------- Or the temperature in freezer section is not set to proper cooling/ freezing.--------- So first inspect temperature, is it set right? If ok, then check the freezer door , is it properly closed? If ok, then its compressor problem.? The compressor is running non stop, this is indication of compressor problem.---------- Click this link below for more help:--- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/06/both-refrigerator-and-freezer-not.html ----------- Later on both section will loose its cooling. -------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Refrig compartment does not cool on my new Kemore Frig.

Check and make sure the fan in the freezer is running. if not possible bad fan. If fan is running, check to see if you have any ice built up on back freezer wall. Normally frost type ice. If so, you may possibly have a bad defrost bi-metal mounted in the freezer section. Next could be a defrost timer control. Model number usally will help more in getting it right.

No air flux in the bottom system only on the top (freezer)

Either your freezer control is set to coldest (which basically keeps the freezer cold by shutting off all air flow to the fridge) or your defrost cycle isn't working.  If your evaporator coil in the freezer is frozen over, melt the ice and replaced the defrost heater and thermostat.

Freezer works great, but refrigeration section stopped working

Check the door seals on fridge and freezer to make sure there are NO leaks.
Try manually adjusting air flap that controls air from freezer to fridge, the flap may be frozen or the actuator that controls the flap may be faulty.

Uneven cooling in fridge and annooying alarm every 10 hours!

Hi,

if the compressor is running your ref. should be getting cold. Their is a defrost timer but when it is in defrost the compressor shuts off. I think you do have a leak.

thanks,

Fridge cools at top and not propwerly at the bottom

Check the back wall of the freezer section for frost buildup. Refrigerator is cooled by air that comes from the freezer section. If the coil is frozen over the air is reduced going to the refrigerator.

Samsung side by side

Check for snow on the back wall of the freezer compartment, Air to cool the refrigerator is supplied from the freezer section. If the coil is frozen over the air circulation becomes retarded and the refrigerator suffers. Snow on the back wall indicates a defrost problem.
