You must have the remote, only the most basic functions can be used without the remote. You can most likely get and OEM remote on eBay or at this site: 1 800 Remotes
Alot of the major manufacturers build remotes that can be programmed to run alternate devices. You will need to search google for [brand] [modelnumber] remote codes for the remote you are trying to program for other devices.
As there is no Menu button on the front panel of your TV, to perform an auto tuning function, you must have its remote control. Without remote control, it is impossible to get in to this menu option.
im going to tell you automatic searching to operate your tv.... turn the tv on..
push the tv button and the on off switch at same time and watch if the led is steady ,leave the buttons., push play button and wait 5 seconds til the led finishes flashing you have to do this about 20 times to be complete secure your remote control doesnt control your tv....but if the control found the code the tv turn it off push reverse button and leave it and wait two seconds to turn the tv on and that set push stop. ........test all functions on your remote control to the tv.....saludos.
Universal remote control are normally programmed for basic functions, ie. chennel up down, volume up down, numbers, etc.
This is even written in the manual that they do not guarantee that all functionality can be used.
Here are your options:
1. Try all the codes that match your TV, there is a slim chance that the other code have the functionality that you need.
2. Buy the original model remote control.
3. If you know of someone that have the same TV, buy a universal remote control with 'learning' function and copy the signal from the original remote control.
I have the same problems before. Now I use my Casio wrist remote control to copy the special functions such as A/V so that even if the original remote control is lost, I can still use these functionality
