I have a Nokia N95 8gb and in anger threw it across the room. Its is now well and truly broken. I have experiance with repairs, so have tried to repair it myself. I fixed the slider problem but on power up the handset is just blank. The LCD does not appear to be cracked though or there would be the rainbow effect on the glass. Any ideas what it could be ? i have the same problem

The LCD Screen is damaged beyond repair. Cost to replace TV is cheaper than repair.

Might be that the connectors connecting the LCD and motherboard are loose. Try connecting them firmly.

Try to dismantle it and fix the shutter yourself before paying for repair.

the lcd panel is destryoed already and if you replace the lcd panel it will cost you alsmost the amount of a brand new lcd tv.

Ebay is your best bet,check in the faulty section.

You can have them repaired using a TV Repair guy but often it costs as much as a brand new tv. My daughter broke my $1,600 LCD. It would have cost $1,200 to fix.. so I just bought a new one.After that I picked up a TV screen protector called TV Armor http://www.tv-armor.com Its designed to protect the TV from damage. Now I dont have to worry anymore when she is playing near it. It works really well.

Yes sir anytime you move a projection set ,theres a chance that the convergence could go out of alighnment as it dosent take much. First off your gonna need a cross hatch generator and a service manual and a good kno how on convergence alighnment as when you adjust some controls you need to counter it withanother completely differant alighnment control> so in some cases to get a section or a linearity correction your gonna spend some time. I myself remeber one set I spend 5 hours on after a customer tryed to adjust the confergence them selfs. Not only did it cost a bundle to realighn the gentleman need to go to the hospital as i results of touching a spot on the chassis that he shouldnt have and gave him a shock that threw him across the room. My advice, unless you have convergence experience is to invest in a service person to come out to your home and adjust it for you. I would try first an authorized repair center as they should have all the tools and secrits to the convergence in that set. Sorry to say but probably not worth the repair as I've seen 1 gig going lesss then what it would cost round trip for you to ship this one off to the repair dept?? I bought a 256 gig last week with a voice recorder for 12 bucks.
