I downloaded the latest driver for Snow Leopard from the Canon site. The printer prints fine when connected to my laptop via USB. But I need it to print wirelessly. I've tried to add a printer using IP, but the driver is different, apparently, and I don't know which protocol to use - LPD, IPP, or JetDirect. Have tried them all, with no success. I'm using the IP address for my AirPort router, which is what the printer is plugged into. I was printing wirelessly with an HP before - in fact, my various HP printers took about 5 minutes to set up. I've spent hours trying to figure this out, even went into the AirPort settings to ensure that it recognizes the printer. And of course printer sharing is enabled. I don't know a way to get the IP address for the printer, if it is different from the router, b/c Canon doesn't support a printer configuration page when the printer is connected to a Mac. What can I do? I need this printer to print wirelessly.

I found an acceptable workaround. If I leave the paper size set to "defined by driver" in the Print dialog box and chose the paper size in the Page Set Up dialog box, that seems to do it. There were numerous complaints on the web about this and it seems to be a major glitch in CS3 with the Leopard OS.

Once you have it installed and working on the USB port go to the properties page of the printer.
1) Select the "Ports" tab.
2) Select "Add Port".
3) Select "Canon BJNP Port".
4) Select "New Port".
5) Fill in the IP Address of your printer and select "Next".
Make sure that the Port is checked back in the properties page and
select "Apply" and your done. Do a test print and your printer should
work on your network. You may still need to fix the settings on your
firewall or router to allow access if it does not print.

I'M USING MY BJC 80 ON A PACKARD BELL M35-U-57, VISTA HOME BASIC. CONNECTED THE PRINTER WITH A GENERIC USB-PARALELL CABLE, NO DRIVER. FIRST HAD THOSE 5 TO 7 MINUTES DELAYS FOR PRINTING. WENT TO THE PRINTERS "PROPERTIES", "ADVANCED OPTIONS" AND TICKED "PRINT DIRECTLY", IN THE "PORTS" SECTION I DISABLED "BIDERECTIONAL PORT". IT'S WORKING SWEET. NO MATTER THE QUALITY.
