Intel chipset my acer travelmate 6291 has been installed with windows xp sp3. now i have a trouble with intel chipset, looks like it's not compatible with xp os. on device manager, device status shows that windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39). i have tried to download the driver that said suitable to this chipset, like TM6291_XP_Chipset_8.2.0.1010 and so for TM6292_XP_chipset. But the problems still remain the same. Please, can someone assist me to resolve my chipset problem???

Windows 7 or Windows XP? In either case, here's the US source, http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers just type in Travelmate 4100 under "Product Model" and it will pull up the list of XP drivers. If you need Windows 7 drivers they should be the included ones with the OS, otherwise, on that same page, you can click on the line "need to know the hardware in your system to choose the right drivers?" download the "HWVendorDetection.exe" software, fid=nd out what "chipset" from intel you have, install that driver and then get the audio driver.

The only drivers available for this laptop are for Windows XP.

You can download these drivers directlyu from Acer:

From this page, choose "Notebook" then choose "TravelMate" then "TravelMate 4050"

You will see that Windows XP is the only operating system selected, and Windows Vista and Windows 7 are not selectable.

The two choices for Windows XP are XP Home Edition( 32 bit) and XP Professional Edition( 32 bit)

Install your Intel 915 chipset compatible driver and Intel VGA compatible driver (for Win7)

if ur touch pad not work than after install .driver of touchpad,ok than it is propearly work done.

You need to reinstall the scanner driver in your computer.
Uninstall scanner driver first then if you have scanner driver disk then you can install it fro that disk.

some display settings are not compatible with some monitors/lcd displays...
check before u make any changes to the display properties....
some changes done forcebly will permanently damage ur monitor beyond repair....
try to install the VGA driver software of the monitor/notebooks may not require andy drivers as OS would have installed it by default...
also dont make any changes to the refresh rates in the display properties as that also may damage ur monitor...
possible use the chekbox that says "Dont display frequency rates that are not compatible with the system"
