Memory card I just received my Nikon Coolpix L810 in the mail. It came with a bundle of products including a Sony SDHC UHS-I memory card. This is not on the approved list from Nikon, but since it came with the bundle, I would think it should work. Well it does not click into place. I really don't want to go buy another card and have to return that if the problem is a camera issue. Has anyone else had this problem?

SOURCE: No memory card will work in my Coolpix camera

Nikon has tested the following cards and approved their use in the Coolpix 3200:

SD memory cards:
SanDisk 16/32/64/128/256MB
Panasonic 16/32/64/128/256/512
Toshiba 16/32/64/128/256MB

Other brands and capacities of cards may work, but Nikon cannot guarantee their operation. Check with the manufacturer of the third-party card for compatibility information. Nikon recommends keeping one of the approved cards available for troubleshooting.

Multi Media cards (MMC) are not recommended and should not be used.

SOURCE: Can Nikon D60 work with 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G Zoom Nikkor

Yes, it will work just fine. I have this lens and my father has basically the same camera (D40) and it works just fine with this lens.

I'm sorry but you can't use the camera as a webcam. Here is why. There is no function on the camera to stream video.
Also, the camera goes into standby mode after 30 seconds (by default). And 3 minutes after that, it shuts off completely. It does that to save batteries. Again. I'm sorry. Good webcams average between $20. to $50. usd and they are made to work 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

You can use a 4GB memory card in your camera, as long as it's an SD card.

If you get that message, it means you haven't formatted the card for use in that camera. You have to format the card in the camera before you use it.

Even though the solution was not what you prpbably wanted, don't let it stop you from rating it a fixya. I would appreciate it. Let me know if I can help you with anything else, and thanks for coming to FixYa.

SOURCE: Trying out new 4G SanDisk cf memory drives in Nikon Coolpix 5700

There is a simpler solution. Just do this: 1. format the card in the camera 2. Connect it via card reader to your PC 3. Copy a little over 2Gb of data to the card - to a different folder 4. Put the card into the camera 5. It should work now... This way you can save some valuable data to the remaining 2 gigs of the card. Note: This has been tested on Nikon Coolpix 5400, but should work on 5700 as well

SOURCE: How to transfer Nikon Coolpix camera pictures to memory card?

Make sure you have an SD memory card inserted and your camera is on. Press the Play button to view your images. Now press menu and scroll down to the copy feature. You have two options, copy from camera to memory card is on top, and from memory card to camera is on the bottom.  Once you select your option, choose your pictures and copy.

Regards,
Lardzor.

Nikon B500 camera. I put a new memory card in my Nikon B500 and the camera says 'card not present'.

Is it this type of card?

The B500 is compatible with SDHC and SDXC cards. That means you can use cards from 4GB all the way to the largest cards currently available. (at that time 128GB)

And is it less than 128GB?

Your Nikon Coolpix B500 Digital Camera is compatible with 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB SD, SDHC and SDXC memory cards.

Why is there no sound when doing videos?

You have maybe turned off the internal mic in the camera. Go to the menu and find the Audio section and reenable it. If that doesent work. Take to a service center.

I have a problem with my memory card which supplied with nikon coolpix l4 and its is 512MB.now 512mb is not available so could i replace it with 2GB memory card.also let me know that 2GB card will support...

The L4 and its software will work with any size SD cards. Make sure you get SD cards, not SDHC cards. SD cards go up to 2GB, while SDHC cards start at 4GB and go up.

I found one in my desk at work. It's missing a memory card thus no one is using it. What kind does it take? Can it be by any brand?

It can take a SD memory card or SDHC memory card, recommended brands: SanDisk, Toshiba and Panasonic from 128 MB to 4 GB capacities.

The manual and other information for the Coolpix L18 is available from Nikon: http://www.nikonusa.com/Nikon-Products/Product-Archive/Digital-Camera/25596/COOLPIX-L18.html . The list of memory cards is on page 91.

I hope this helps.

Keeps telling me the memory card is write protected and yes i check the switch and switched cards 3 difrent cards what next

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". Some include trying to use of a 4GB SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Others include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

Nikon digital camera coolpix L22.Does it have memory card? and can we add on video facility? Thanks

The L22 does not include a memory card in the box, though some retailers may bundle one. It can use any SD card up to 2GB in size and any SDHC card up to 32GB in size. It also comes with video capability, though it's not up to the quality of a "real" video camera.
