SOURCE: the projector comes on, shows an image, then shuts off

power supply problem. the capacitors are probably drying out. it takes a boost of power to strike the lamp, and if the power supply can't handle it, it shuts down. replace the power supply.

Plug in the power cord, turn on the lamp, and reset the lamp operation time by keep

pressing the left arrowand the right arrowand POWER buttons on the control panel at the same time about three seconds.

How can I delete a used projector's previous owner's password/settings?
unfortunately for you - mitsubishi abandoned they excellent projection division and most of they electronics division in 2013. you should have this procedure (return to factory settings) in your manual. i do not know this particular model but on some of them you need to switch off, held selection button and switch power on, holding the select for about 20 sec. check combination of the buttons and one of them will work.

if you have disk (some of them were supplied with cd) there should be little program on it which will allow you to control the projector from computer, it should have reset function somewhere on it.

Bypass or Reset Mitsubishi HDTV V-Chip Password Lock

Models: WS-B55 / WS-48511 / WS-55511 / WS-55711 / WS-65511
Models: WS-65611 / WS-65711 / WS-65712 / WS-73711

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Mitsubishi HDTV Parental V-Chip parental lock? Have you forgotten your V-Chip passcode or password?

If you forget your V-Chip passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your password.

When your passcode is requested, press the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks your TV.

When you enter the V-Chip Lock menu, pressing the number 9 and the QV button on the original TV remote control at the same time will delete your old password and prompt you to enter a new passcode. Pressing HOME at this time will cancel the entire passcode.

Hello
Your projector is in security lock Enabled condition. If you have forgot the pascode . You can change the password by
Use the Menu'UP'/'Down' '<'/'>' buttons to enter the four digit pascode. The default password is "ENTER,ENTER,ENTER, ENTER". After this is entered, you can put in a new pasword. Therefore when you use this function for the first time, pleas input "ENTER" four times.
To cancel the security lock, press the Menu key, then turn OFF the "Security Lock" setting on the INSTALL SETTING menu.
If you call the customer service center because you have forgotten the password, you will need to be able to veryfy the projectors' serial number and your identity. The process may differ in other countries/regions. Once your identity has been confirmed, they will provide you a password. OK.

Tv wont turn on its a mitsubishi wide screen model number WS-65809. also forgot password for parental locks so when it is on cant watch anything but Disney, and Nickalodian!!!

Good Day,
Bypassing the V-ChipLock
 After you set the lock, you need your passcode to view a V-Chip locked program, view the locked TV, cancel the lock, or enter the V-Chip lock menus. If you forget your passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your passcode. When your password is requested, press the number 9 and QV buttons on the remote TV control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks the TV. When entering the V-Chip Lock menu, this process deletes your old passcode and prompts you to enter a new passcode.
When changing or deleting your passcode, you must use the remote control included with this TV. You cannot use any Mitsubishi remote control from another component or a "universal" remote.

We experienced a power outage and now the television is locked. It is asking for a code, which we don't have. How do we bypass or reset the television.
Using the Mitsubishi2.gif remote, go to the locked function and when it asks for the code pres QV and 9 at the same time on the remote, this will work in any mode which may be locked, including entering a new password!
