MY QUESTION IS HOW DO I Disable the "SECURITY FREEZE LOCK" on my hitachi HTS54503289a300, 320 GB sata hard Drive? originally WAS INTALLED IN MY ACER TRAVELMATE LAPTOP NANUFACTURED IN 2012 BUT THE LAP

Maybe if you can format the disk-but you loose data, maybe there is a program that can do it, probably in linux, or bootable itself, maybe ask acer for master password or something, if you still own original laptop and it runs then try to remove disk encryption while the hdd is accessible with laptop (i think its in bios), otherwise the hdd may be unusable to prevent data theft. you can plug any sata hdd into any sata device if you can hook all the cables, no compatibility issues there. try googling and youtubing for more answers

Hitachi 500 GB Sata Hard disk device driver

You just connect it up, and boot from your system disk, and your computer will install the necessary software for you. You must be connected to the internet and this must not be your system disk (unless you are booting from CD or an eternal device)

Bios reconizes new hd drive but xp pro does not

SATA HARD DRIVE - XP INSTALLATION
The problem is that XP installation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on a disk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then, XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP. The FIX. Go into the BIOS and disable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is a IDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. When Windows has been installed then install all the device drivers (including the SATA driver), then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive.

if it is clicking then the hard drive is slowly beginning to degrade. I would contact the manufacture ASAP and get it replaced.

I bought a Hitachi z5k320 hard drive trying to install it, and windows, but my computer won't recognize hard drive. how can i get it to recognize the new drive. can't do anything until that happens.

As long as you are sure the hard drive is connected properly with SATA cables to the motherboard and has power from the power supply unit, and that the drive is working, you can enter the BIOS on computer startup and modify the "boot device" look in "primary boot device" for a name matching that of your hard drive (probably "HITACHI .....) If it is there select it as the primary device and hopefully it will boot and ask you to install windows. If it is not there the drive may not be connected or it may need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

Hello! My daugther has a Compaq Presario. The computer keeps freezing. After I reinstalled back up disk everything seems fine except with the Hitachi SATA Disk Device. The computer says Drive0:Hitachi...

It could be that the disk-drive is "dying" -- when Windows tries to write to a "bad" spot on the disk, it will "freeze" until the write is "successful" -- usually, this is only milli-seconds, which you may not have noticed. If the disk-drive cannot write the data, it will "fail". Replace the disk-drive.
If it still is under warranty from Hitachi, they should replace it, at minimal cost.

Its not Dececting

The disk-drive has malfunctioned.

Search online for a professional "data recovery service".
For a significant fee, they can repair your disk-drive,
just long-enough to copy your files to a new disk-drive.

If it still has a valid WARRANTY, exercise the warranty to get it repaired/replaced.

If the warranty has expired, then open the case, remove the disk-drive, buy a new "compatible" disk-drive, connect it, and thus "revive" your external storage device.
