MAH8700 Water and Clothes stuck in washer.. HELP!!

Replace all four struts

Calypso...The pumps fail often. They have redisigned one that theres not as many problems with, but if you still have the original, this is deffinatly the problem. As far as clothes getting stuck, the U-Joints wear out and cause too much play allowing things to get stuck. Total for this repair parts + labor will usually run about 500-600. There was a class action lawsuit for this machine and they no longer make it.

first lets try to get the water out of washer, put on drain cycle, after it drains water out take clothes out of washer, then lets see if it will run on spin cycle, it may have to many clothes, if this does not help then you have a transmission problem, this will defenently need a technichan to look at it. if you need I can look in you area and see if I can find you some assistance.

I don't know if you are aware of this, but Maytag did a recall on this washer in March 2007 where there was a risk of water leaking into the control panel and shorting out the board. You can follow this link to see if your washer was affected based on the serial number:

I found this on the Maytag site:

Is the door locked and the Add A Garment or Add Clothes light off?
If the Add A Garment or Add Clothes light is off, then the washer door will unlock after the Pause/Off or Pause/Cancel button is pressed twice. The door will not immediately unlock while the cycle is running due to a possible high-water level in the washer, high-water temperature, tumbling or spinning. It may take up to five minutes for the washer to stop spinning and draining before the door will unlock. You will hear the door click when it unlocks.

The only other solution I can offer is to disassemble your washer if its that urgent and you can't get a repairman out there.

my machine had a pair of kids underware stopping the water from entering the draij pump,you may have clothes inbetween the drum and outer wall stopping the normal rotation

check for defective lid switch or switch just out of adjustment.

If your washer has an extra rinse button try pushing it. My Maytag refuses to wash unless that button is pushed, so in your case it may not be completing the rinse cycle correctly.
