SOURCE: How do I put security on my Belkin 54g router
You set your security by enabling WEP.
When you get in the interface to configure WEP, set a pass phrase. Write down the 3 numeric keys it generates. Then connect to the wireless using your laptop, etc. When it asks for your passkey, do not enter the pass-phrase; enter one of the three keys that were generated by the router. That's the biggest mistake people make when trying to get wireless to work.

Go to the setup page for the router (IP 192.168.1.1) and set up the WPA-PSK [TKIP] security. It will allow fairly simple setup, and only provide the pass code to house members.

1. Type http://1912.168.2.1 in your browser This gets you into the router's configuration
2.Look for the tab that says wireless settings or something similar
3. Look for security tab
4. Secure the router using one of the security schemes provided...whatever you use remember and write it down somewhere or you will have to reset your router if you forget your password and want to make changes to the router's configuration.

Hi,
You can always reset the router to its factory settings and get rid of the password. Look at the picture below, it shows you the reset button. What you need to do is to push that button for about 5-8 seconds while the router is TURNED ON.
I hope it helped you. Rate for this information will greatlybe appreciated. Thank you for choosing FixYa!
