You have to unloop the straps from the gold metal bar. This will allow the straps to be free so you can feed them thru the holes and re-feed them into the proper height hold. You will than noticed that there are loops at the very end of the straps which you can loop back onto the gold metal bar.

Go out and BUY a new car seat. used car seats could have been in an accident (in which case you should not use it) and may also have expired. (car seats are like milk. they have expiration dates)
please don't be cheap when it comes to a child's life!

Log on to the web page of the maker and get the phone number and call. Tell them and they'll send you a new instruction manual for free. If you get lucky, you might get a whole new car seat.

I can't adjust the straps

Hi Selina - Instructions are in your user manual on how to adjust the harness height. When the harness is correctly adjusted for your daughter the harness pads should sit comfortably. If you need to download a replacement user manual select the carseat you have then click "Service" at www.maxi-cosi.com

Footmuff instructions

Hi Beth - First open the footmuff, and set the carseat down on the floor in front of you so you're facing it. Take the harness pads and ****** pad off the harness straps and place the footmuff into the carseat. Pull the harness straps through the holes in the footmuff and press the back of the footmuff into the curve of the carseat. Replace the harness pads. You're ready to go! When you use the carseat, simply put baby in and do up the harness as usual, then do up the footmuff for cosy, safe travelling.

Hi i have got a maxi cosi cabriofix car baby car seat and cannot seem to remove the cover at the bottom where the grey circle is how do i do this and can i was the cover in the washing machine once...

Good Morning

The grey tensioner strap appears to be stitched in place but it isn't. Follow it around under the bottom of the carseat and the strap is in a piece of plastic catch shaped like an H on it's side. Wiggle one way then the other to unhook from this catch, and the carseat fabric can be removed (where the grey circle part is the fabric is tucked underneath slightly, once you've unhooked the tensioner strap you'll be able to get the fabric off easily).

Hand washing is recommended, but if you have delicate or handwash cycle on machine this is also suitable. Use a mild detergent and maximum temp 30 degrees for washing. Do not tumble dry: Do not leave in direct sunlight to dry. Ensure fabric is completely dry before putting it back on for use as damp fabrics may result in mould or mildew growth.

Remember never remove the harness straps from the carseat, the fabrics can be completely removed while the harness remains in place!

Trying to adjust the child seatbelt harness higher in the carseat

I located my instruction manual for this carseat. It instructed me to turn the carseat over & located on the bottom are two metal brackets that lock the seatbelt harness. You just have to detach each metal bracket & pull through the bottom slots of the carseat, readjust each seatbelt to whatever level is necessary & push back through the bottom of the seat to lock securely. Thanks anyway for your help!

Carseat straps

You can move it by pushing down on the flexible tab part of the seat base just above the box, but you don't need to move it at all in order to adjust the straps.
In order to move the straps I remove the clip side (the opposite side of the box), this removes in the same manner as the black box side, you just push down onthe flexible tab on the base; and run it through backwards, slide it into the next hole up, to make it larger run it back through the holes and click it back into the base in the back of the seat. This can all be done without disabling, The clip in the front of the seat must be unfastened but it will all fit through the holes in the seat to adjust the straps.

Missing Instruction Manual

https://plweb.evenflo.com/faq_detail.aspx?faqid=4407 the above link is for the manual but here are the instructions. If you have two plastic harness adjusters located on the back of your seat please follow the following steps: On the very bottom of your car seat locate two metal anchors one on each side of the seat, pull the metal anchors out of position and turn them sideways and feed them through to the front of the seat. Release the buckle tongues and chest clip and pull the harness straps to the back of the seat while pushing the chest clips, buckle tongues and harness anchors through to the back of the car seat. NOTE: You may find it easier by pulling down the seat pad when feeding the straps through. All pieces will fit through the harness slots. Choose the appropriate slots for the new harness position. Push the harness anchors, harness straps, buckle tongues and chest clips back through to the front of the seat. Once the straps are completely pulled back through to the front of the seat, make sure the straps are not twisted by clipping the chest clip together and buckling the buckle tongues, then feed the metal anchors through to the bottom of the seat and clip anchors back into place. ********************************************************************* If you have an adjustment strap that is located in between the child?s foot area that allows you to loosen and tighten the straps please follow the following steps: Loosen the harness straps by pressing the harness release button that is located between the child?s legs near the feet area; while pulling on the harness straps from the front of the car seat near the shoulder area. Turn the car seat around and from the back side of the seat follow the straps down to the metal splitter plate, remove the ends of both straps from the metal splitter plate. Once the straps are removed, pull both harness straps completely through to the front of the seat. Can't remove carseat cover

There is a trick to this. All the straps are kinda connected together. The main harness is one piece, a clever clip on each of the lap section. (one on each side) needs to be removed to allow the belt to slide through the seat and cover openings. Once here the strap needs to go through the actual seatbelt buckle. Once the buckles are off you can pull the harness through the shoulder opening. The note to take here is that the harness runs through a loop on the adjuster belt (a narrower belt that runs from the back of the chair under the it to and through the adjusting fastener) Once through the loop you can pull the main harness strap free from the chair. Now the next part, depress the release clip of the adjuster and with the other hand pull this belt free from adjuster. It may require a bit of two handed work as belt nears the end. You should now have a wide belt, a narrow belt, 2x clips and 2x harness buckles. All you need to do now is remove the adjuster which usually requires the manipulation of a metal 'B' buckle which is sewn into the loop to be twisted sideways to allow it to pass through the opening. You are home free now. The cover should be elasticated around the edging and easily removed for washing.(you can also put the straps in too) Now is also a good time to just give the actual seat a good clean too. Refitting is reversal of removal. However REMEMBER and NOTE the way clips, buckles and which openings the straps went through when removing. There are usually a couple. Mark the items with a marker if you think you'll forget. On refitting you might want to put it to the next one up. (as a child grows ie. the shoulder straps should be above the shoulders when the child is seated, equally important is they must be the same on both sides.) I think there might be a couple of slots for the adjuster strap. You might want to move that one out too. Have your child seated in the chair before you start the reassembly and mark out the openings the staps need to pass through which would be most comfortable for the him/her. Good Luck.
