I have a Pace Edwards Electric Bedlocker that will not operate. I've changed the battery on the remote and verified that there is power to the unit. Are there any troubleshooting procedures that you can recommend?

The remote and unit lost sync when you replaced the battery. Check your owner's manual for steps to resync the two.

Pace Edwards BedLocker Tonneau Cover - BL2078 will not open or close using the remote. I can hear clicking like on & off but no movement. Work great moving it by hand with brake released.

Funny, I thought this question had two answers? One was by the Indian AI Answer Bot Raja Akhter since deleted and another poster who said the brake was in the rear bed front left hand side. Not a lot of use as you said it works with the brake released.

You say you are getting no response. I always find it is better to phone. Speak to a real person in Support / R&D. It sounds like you have a relay problem. The clicking it the relay trying to switch power to the motor.

The phone number is at the bottom of the page. How old it is? Under warranty? The warranty is 7 years. What did the local dealer say?

WHY ARE EDWARDS BPS6A FUSES NOT REPLACEABLE

As much as I would like to say that it is because they want you to buy a new panel, it is required to obtain their UL listing.

Bedlocker won't open

I read on another forum where they had a problem with some of their Brake Mechanisms failing.
"Easy fix. Just take 3 screws out from the side of the motor and the unit comes right off. The brake is added so that the bedlocker stays locked in-place once the pressure sensor shuts off the motor. Without it, the cover may activate with vibration of the moving vehicle."

The fuse blew on the board. The tech said it was because the battery was connected before the main A/C power breaker was turned on. Is this true or does it matter which power A/C or D/C is energized...

Primary power should always be applied before batteries are attached. Voltage spikes that can occur when primary power is applied can blow the fuses. The most common cause of the battery circuit fuse blowing is that the batteries were not connected properly.

TCl Remote C198A will not work. I've tried new batteries. "Electric eye" does not light up.

Most shops have a remote tester----have it tested (usually free).

Also , most digital camera's in a very dark room will react on the display screen with a flash when the remote is pointed at them and buttons pressed---home check.

If remote is not sending it can usually be fixed---IF remote tests out as good the REMOTE receiver in the unit is bad.

I've got one single 12000 btu ac unit and one double 24000 btu unit and three wall units controled by 3 remote controls.Recently one of the remotes stoped to work.I've changed the batteries(were...

Taking apart the hand held remote won't serve any real purpose as none of the parts inside are replaceable. Since you have 3 different units, with 3 different hand held remote. I'm wondering, if perhaps, you're using the wrong remote on that one unit. As each one has a different remote code.
In addition, I have learned from experience, that if the display screen on the hand held works, the problem is not in the hand held. Now, that's not to say, Operator Error can't play a role in it. But, most times, it's the receiver in the unit, that may be causing the problem. Or the hand held is to far away or something is blocking the signal in between.

Almost every appliance we sell, has a radio frequency remote control. The most problems we incur is with weak or dead batteries or operator error. The problem with batteries is that you don't now how long they sat in a warehouse, before making to a retail outlet and then how long they sat on the shelves there, before they were sold. They may have enough power to activate the handheld remote, but not enough to transmit a strong signal. So, check the strength of the new batteries you installed.

Hope this helps and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have installed a pace Edwards jack rabbit roll up toneau cover on a 07 tundra. The mounting clamps are attached at the front of the rail near the canister and about 8" from the tailgate. The problem...

As you may be aware, the knob has to be rotated to pull in the latches so you can open the top. When you pull on the strap to close the top, I releases the latches so they will stop at the 1 ft intervals.

1. Make sure that when you pull on the strap, you see the knob pop back to the lock position (handle going side to side) If it stays in a front to back orientation, the strap is not pulling on the latch release.
2. On either side of the roll top, there is a plastic block that keeps the latch bars in place. If one of the screws falls out, you will lose control of the latch on that side so it no longer locks the cover at any of the intervals.

I've had a jackrabbit cover for the past 8 years and I've only had a couple little issues related to the latching. The things i indicated are what I found to be the problem at different times.
