If you have a Windows 7 installation disk, just put the disk in your drive and follow the instructions......it will remove your XP and install a fresh Windows 7
Even though Windows XP and 7 are different versions of Windows, you can still connect a computer running Windows 7 to an XP computer using Remote Desktop Connection. Remote Desktop Connection is a utility in Windows that allows you to log in to a remote computer directly from your computer's desktop. However, before you can use the utility on your Windows 7 computer, you must enable it on the Windows XP computer. To connect to the Windows XP computer, you also need to know the XP computer's name.
Instructions
Enable Remote Desktop on the Windows XP Computer
Click "Start" on the Windows XP computer, and then right-click "My Computer."
Click "Properties" from the pop-up menu.
Click the "Remote" tab, and then click the "Allow Users to Connect Remotely to This Computer" check box.
Click "OK" to confirm the change when prompted on the pop-up window. Click "OK" on the open windows to close them.
Connect to the Windows XP Computer
Click "Start" on the Windows 7 computer, and then type "Remote Desktop Connection" in the search box. Press "Enter."
Click "Remote Desktop Connection" from the results list.
Type the name of the XP computer in the "Computer" box, and then click "Connect" to connect to the XP computer.

After upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7 you probably need to go to the Epson website look up the model printer and download the specific software and drivers for Windows 7 this should correct your problem install that new software
Run it in "Win XP compatibility" mode: right-click on the icon -> properties -> compatibility then either 'run compatibility troubleshooter' or just point out in which mode to run
Ok try formatting the usb drive under XP, put a small file on it, say a pic or something, then take it to win 7 & see if win 7 is OK with it, if OK, well then copy files and take back to XP.. ya should be able to "see" ya files now.
I just looked at the Kodak website and could only find the following reference - it is for windows xp but you could try and see if it will work with windows 7.
For WINDOWS 2000 and XP Operating Systems:
Temporarily disable the Windows firewall:
Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Windows firewall.
Disable the firewall and click OK.
For WINDOWS 2000: Select Start > Settings > Printers. For WINDOWS XP: SelectStart > Printers and Faxes.
Right-click the KODAK EASYSHARE Printer Dock, and then select Properties.
Select the Ports tab.
Clear the "Enable bidirectional support" check box.
