My mic is a PC350 and when i record something, it records any sound in the headphones, not the mic piece. Why?
-right click on the volume icon on the system tray and select recording devices
-there should be a selection that says stereo mix or something like it
if not.. right click on a blank space on that box and select "show hidden devices"
-you must disable this device
-make sure your microphone jack is enabled
-click apply and it should work
are you xp or vista?
go to control panel then sound and click on the recording tab make sure stereo mix is disabled and you mic is enabled
im using vista but ill go to my other computer and check
is it a usb mic or 3.5 mm jacks?
try going into the voice tab on the sound and audio properties menu and select you mic from drop down menu in the voice recording box also run the test hardware wizard
hmmmphh... ok in the sound recording tab disable everything but the mic. click on the advanced tab and try selecting alternate mic then run the test wizard again
This may be a stupid question but you do have them plugged in the right holes?
Im just on my way out so I cant remote
try reinstalling the audio driver for your sound card. that might reset everything and maybe it will work

Does this sound right?
If that does sound right, that is not good, because the mic still does not work.
3.5 mm
No, it is recording sound from the headphones :s
No`p, that didn`t do the trick either :(
yea
See, i`m slightly confused, it was working yesterday, And i did nothing, and now it doesn`t do anything except for pick up head phone sounds. The sound card is great, its just the config, something is set to make it do something.
Your welcome to come remote desktop if you want to try that?
It didn`t either. This is weird... Well, thanks for your help, take care. My msn messenger is [email protected], If anyone else thinks they can help, add me, if your adding me to say hey, please refrain!
It was working before, but it makes a crackly noise and It wont work. The Headphones work great but the Mic Won't... I have everything set on my mic so I have no Idea what I have done wrong
