Greetings. I have the same problem, it all started when one day I turned off the projector and unplugged immediately after I disconnected it, so I didn't let it cool off. So I turned on again and got the "lamp" light coming on, I assumed I burned out the lamp. I bought new lamp, replaced it, no signs of life. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Same problem here. Replaced the lamp, no effect. Took the whole thing apart last night to see if there was something obvious. Nada. None of the fans come on at all when I turn the unit on so it seems like a power supply problem to me but I would like to hear what a normal 2300MP works like since I got this one already dead. There are two fans inside, one is a regular fan for general cooling of the unit and the other is a blower in the lamp area. Can anyone tell me if these turn on immediately when the unit is turned on or if they wait for the unit to heat up before turning on? What I would like to find is a 2300 that someone is selling cheap because the lamp is dead so I can have a working one to compare to. Or a service manual or schematic would help too!

I have the same problem. My company bought three of them. Two have the problem and the third one is OK. So I exchanged differents partsa , and I discovered that the problem came of the mainboard. But I don't know if the problem is a problem of hard or a technical problem.

Have the same problem here. Have two of these units. Took the bulb out of the one that had the Lamp light on, and put it in the other projector. The other projector worked perfectly. I have three bulbs, they all work in the one projector, they all cause Lamp Light in the other one. The manual states nothing about hard resetting the unit. Also note that, the fans do not power up instantly on power on, they come on about 5 seconds after pressing the power button.

This seems to be a protection device that perhaps need resetting Does your manual give any help here? Alternative contact Dell or if you can spot it the Projector maker[Dell don't make projectors-] so it is a re badged main make. Or look on the web for a projector that has the same appearance to yours and check out the make.

Only you can do this by careful examination of the product for labels or molded in I/D in the moldings.
Also search the web-like reviews of projectors- so try to spot the same item as you have but under another name[the original]
Or post a picture of the same using the add the an image feature

Dell 2300 MP turns on and the lamp turns on, but then the tempera

Ok you need to replace the thermo sensor on this now the thing is the replacment is not something "just anyone can do" Now what you can do is this you can take it into BEST BUY witch are EXPERTS to help you replace the sensor in this.

But for a end user to dig inside of this would not be wise. I would highly recommend a expert fix this due to the sensor. The sensor is on the ballast board.

I hope this FREE answer helps please do vote on it anyways and leave some feedback for us today!

Dell 2300 MP temp light flashes and projector turns off.

I am experiencing a similar problem with mine. It will cycle on and off without actually powering up fully and then after about the 4th or 5th time it will shut off completely and the lamp indicator light on top illuminates. i am reading in other blogs that this is a design flaw on this unit. let me know if you have found any fixes.

Projector

A couple of things...

If the fan is not working, the lamp will not fire. If you have the owner's manual, it should indicate what the flashing lights mean. Check to make sure that the panels are seated properly. When you replaced the lamp, the outer cover was removed. If that is not seated back 100%, the unit will not work. There are a number of safety "checks" built into the unit to prevent damage and possibly fire as the lamps get really hot.

Check the items above and let us know your progress.
