Memory card not initialized

I stupidly thought that the Olympus xD Picture Card M+ 1 GB into an SD Card reader on my laptop--even though it was more than spacially clear that the SD reader is larger than the xD Picture Card. After retrieving the Olympus Card, I put it back into the FujiFilm Finepix Z20 camera and now I am getting an error message that reads "Card not Initialized".
Is there a way to reformat the card and retrieve the data on it?

Format xd card error I bought new Fugifilm xD-Picture card, 1 GB, and putit in camera. Brought up format screen and attempted to format. All I got was "card error!". I thought the problem might be the...

Try formatting the card on your pc, connect the card to a card reader, open my computer find the card, right click format, try standard fat first and format. if that doesn't work try Fat 32.

Do I have to use a Olympus memory card or can I use a SanDisk SD card

You may use any brand xD Picture Card. The key is that it be an "xD" card, not the far more common "SD" card.

Is olympus xd -picture card, type m+ 2gb compatable with camera Fujifilm Finepix.

XD cards are now obsolete memory cards. The cards were developed by Olympus and Fujifilm and released during the summer of 2002. There is now an adapter that allows an SD card to be used in place of the XD card You need to remember that the capacity should not exceed 2 GB or the camera will not be able to accept it. As far as I know cameras accepting XD cards were last produced in 2007, I don't know what specific models however the camera specifications would show what type card it uses.

● MultiMediaCard (MMC)
● Secure Digital Input/Output (SD I/O)
● Secure Digital (SD) Memory Card
● xD-Picture Card (XD)

● xD-Picture Card (XD) Type M

Here's how to use the memory card reader:

Can i use a sd memory card with my olympus fe 330

No this is not possible. Olympus is using the xD-Picture Card.
If you get an microSD to xD adapter (Olympus MASD-1 adapter) it is possible to use Micro SD Cards.

Cant get anything when i installed the memory card for my olympus

If this is a C-700 camera the only memory card that can be used in that camera is a Smartmedia card from 16mb to 128mb. An xD card is not even supported by that camera at all.
