Sorry, but your camera only can work with SmartMedia cards. These cards are no longer common use. I your camera still can make great pictures, it must be like 12 years of age. It will be difficult to get memory cards for it.Don't try to put a card in the camera other than a SmartMedia, or you will decently damage the camera.

First make sure the lens is not smeared with something. If it is clean try setting all options to the factory default. You make have the camera set on a macro setting.

No for Olympus has not made it sync with Windows 7 as of yet. I highly doubt if they will since Windows 7 has been out for sometime now

You can send it for repairs in any local shop. The only complication is that they may decide to take a little while if they do not have the parts readily available.
Also, if you have any Olympus care centre around you, you can visit them and they would know what to do.
On the other had, if you feel you can change or repair it yourself once you have these parts available, then you can buy them online from www.ebay.com and have them shipped to you.

Make sure that the USB cable is tried out with another PC to confirm if the cable is working or the camera is detected. In most cases the memory can be a issue as you can try to remove the memory card and check for a scan for any bad files.
If there is no response still then the USB cable can be open and must be changed.
Best is to take the camera along and confirm at the Olympus service or the nearby camera service., so as to confirm.
