Actually you can simply transfer the pictures from your camera to your computer using the USB cable and without any software/s required. (since you didn't mention the Camera Model, I am not sure whether you could follow me or not, but I do hope that you'll be able to at least get some idea )
To do this, follow the steps:
First connect the USB cable to the Camera, and then plug in the other end of the usb cable to the computer's USB port. Now turn On the camera, wait for few seconds and watch on the desktop, you will see something like this (in windows xp, and similar boxes on windows vista and 7, etc..) :

c83853f.jpg

This is the Autoplay, you can automatically transfer the contents of the memory card with the wizard or manually after the folder is opened ("Open Folder to view files"). If you wish to follow the wizard, click the "Copy pictures to a folder on my computer" and follow the instructions with Picture transfer wizard, by default, the pictures are transferred to the My Pictures folder of the My Document.

In some cases, you may not see this autoplay, if it doesn't, simply open My Computer after the Camera is Turned On and check the drive/s. Usually most camera shows two drive (excluding the currently installed drives on your computer, like C: or D: etc..) on the My Computer folder, one for the memory card and another for built-in Camera memory. Once you open them, you'll be able to distinguish them, by memory or from the contents/pictures. Open the drive/s and browse inside the folder/s, then copy the picture/s you want to save on your computer and paste it/them onto your computer folder (anywhere, where you want to save..)

You'll be able to use them as your wallpaper or you can upload them on the Internet.

Note: 1. This is to be done with the battery installed on the Camera
2. Autoplay depends on the settings of the computer, it maybe pop up or may not be, so I've mentioned both the methods.
3. Be careful with the folder/drives on the My Computer, it's important to first note the existing Drives and do the task if you are not very familiar with these things.

There's another option, but since yours's an XD card, this is not so common. You can use a Card Reader to transfer the files/photos to you computer instead of transferring them from the camera via usb cable. If you wish to buy, you have to ask or look for a Card Reader which supports XD memory card. The process is more or less similar with that of transferring from the camera via usb, the only difference is, you need not to power on the card reader, simply insert the card on the slot and follow the onscreen instructions.

I hope you'll be able to follow my instructions, if you have problem or if you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Go to windows explorer. open my computer on the tree. Look for drives other than 'C' drive. It will be on one of them. It could be listed as D, E, F or whatever your computer is set to name it. Sincle click through it. When you find your pictures, drag & drop them to where you want them.

XD card picture error

Try to use a card reader instead. They are only a few dollars. I use one all the time, and hardly ever will use the camera on different models I have.
Never delete from the PC to the camera. It can cause corruption. Once corrupted, you may lose all pictures on the card.
Always delete from the camera, unless you will format the card anyway.
Use the camera and try to delete the bad picture from the camera. this may fix the problem, if not, try to read from another camera or a card reader...don't ever delete from another camera or the card reader.

The last is not good, and that means to format the card, and you will lose all which is on the card.
You may try to copy to internal memory.

One more thing... take out the card. reset all in the camera menu. Then reset all the things you like. Put the card in and try to read each picture in play mode only. If one picture is very slow, delete it. This may take some time as corrupted files may read slowly. then try again.

Olympus xD picture Card

Try formatting the card.

It may be that there are damaged sections on the card preventing a read from that point on. If this is the case you will need to get a new card - but make sure that your camera supports the size and type of card that you intend to buy. Not all cameras support the most modern cards (No they are not all the same).

Do a Google search using the following string:

(Brand Name) (Model Number) +specifications

You will be able to see what cards are supported and work out from there which ones are not. This info should be in your manual if you still have it.

Good luck.

XD-Picture Card

Ultra-compact with fast data transfer rates, the Type M xD-Picture Card is currently available with up to 2GB of storage capacity.

Not only do they support the exclusive Olympus Panorama option, they also activate art effect functions including 3D, oil painting, cartoon and watercolor. These extra functions which are used in conjunction with the software provided with your camera will add fun and creativity to your photography.

So just to clarify, you have a TYPE M XD PICTURE CARD, MADE BY OLYMPUS.

And an Olympus mju770 SW. Now, it is the software on your computer that is going to allow you to make any changes. So first, you need to open that software. Connect the camera to the computer via USB, and voila, extra functions within the software will activate and allow you to edit the pictures with special effects like watercoloring, etc.

You know, you could also achieve the same result by using a powerful image editing tool like Photoshop CS3 or even go back as far as Photoshop 7.0. Or Microsoft Photo Editing can add those effects, and that's free with any XP machine.
