Is there a reset button I can try before bringing the unit in for service?the serial number is 19220. I hope I've indicated the correct model below. The unit simply says "Electrolux Lux Legacy".
Can you provide more information? Is it the vacuum or power nozzle motor?
There are a couple items that should be checked.
Full bag will cause the vacuum to shut off.
Hose blockage could be another problem.
This vacuum has a 10 year warranty on the motor, and 5 years on everything else. Look in the yellow pages under vacuums, for the AERUS dealer, that is the new name for the traditional Electrolux company.....

The problem was a sticking switch that was not being reset. The vacuum on/off switch mechanism is comprised of two switches. One is the main switch that turns the vacuum on and off. The second is a shut off switch that gets tripped when the full bag sensor is engaged. This second switch is supposed to get reset when you push the on/off switch on the outside of the machine. The full bag shutoff switch was stiff and it, therefore, was taking a couple of presses of the on/off switch to move the shutoff switch back into the running position.

In between the filters there's an access panel that can be removed - there may be a blockage there. You should also check your hose for a blockage.
Otherwise you may need to take it to your local Electrolux Service Center. There may be a problem with the pressure board. The machines have a 2 year warranty, not sure what it'd be in your neck of the woods.

Ladies! Go to vaccums24X7.com. They have more parts for older machines than you can imagine. They have good pix to help you ID your model if you can't read the worn spec plate. They have hoses for the 1970's-1990's old "iron horse" electrolux canister models. So does ebay and a few other sites...do a google search and you will find them. Sadly, Electrolux (the company) is more interested in selling new machines than supporting old ones...like everyone else these days. Still my old (1982) Silverado Delux really sucks, so much so in fact that it pulled the liner out of the old hose and would not pick up dirt as a result. A new hose is about $70....you can get a whole new vaccum at Wally-World for that, though as you point out they do not have the vaccum that the older machines do, but then the older machines are always needing work because of their age. I hope that helped you.
SOURCE: just need manual of LUX 1 Royal vacuum cleaner,
I'm sorry but this is a model that is not available here in the United States. I have never seen this model before in my life, and have no clue what could be wrong on this model. I did however find the instruction manual for your model. You just have to answer a 4 question survey on how you like the LUX 1 and it's free download.

I hope this helped you.
