Altec Lansing ADA 880 Toroidal Transformer Replacement

My toroidal power transformer is not working any more. I think it is the thermal fuse in the primary coil inside the transformer blew out. I read online that I have to replace the entire transformer. My son loves this speaker setup. It has a very deep bass. Where can I find a replacement transformer? Or can I unwind the secondary coils and bypass the thermal fuse and wind them back? thanks,

Behringer ha 8000 transformer replacement help.

Toroid Transformer is used in power supply not with headphones out. Headphones out are directly connected with headphone amplifier IC. (Note that the difference in 4700 and 8000 is number of channels. Rest of the circuit diagram is same).

Hi, Toroidal transformer in Sakura AV-200T input is 220v I need 110v Thanks

Hello shole135, Hi, you need a 110v to 220v step-up transformer with 200 watts power specification. you can visit your local hardware store and find one. Don't replace the toroidal transformer.

Whining sound will not stop

The toroidal core transformer(s) is going bad. This will call for a unit replacement. Is it under warranty?

Nad 310 no power

The output should be 24v ac. Sounds like you have a busted transformer. Did you check out the resistor in front of the transformer.

You sound like you know what your talking about so I will not bore you with suff like glass fuses and thermal couples.

Good luck, I have had a few items like this over the years. Sometimes it's just best to send them in to the manufacture. I would look for a replacement transformer. 120v ac to 24v ac around 5 amps. Test it out and see if it works... If not, send it in.

I have a digitor subwoofer (A3111) and it looks like the fuse is blown. Looks like it needs a "F1AL 250V" fuse - but when I looked for one in the shops, I couldnt find it. Do they still exist?...

Firstly, the fuse is just a slow blow 1 Amp short style. You should be able to get an equivalent at any electronics parts supplier (a 1.25-1.5 Amp will do as long as it is the correct physical size).

Secondly, the cause of it blowing the mains fuse is probably a short in the primary winding of the Toroidal transformer. I have now replaced the transformer in mine twice over about 4 years.

If you cannot get the original Toroidal transformer (with the correct connectors) use a 50 or 80VA 12+12V Toroidal Transformer and connect the secondary windings in series. You should be able to get one for AU$30 to AU$40.
