Phone reads locked out - Mitel 5340 IP Phone

With front of phone facing you. On the left side of the phone you will see two grey slim inline buttons, and or, keys. The top button, and or, first key is the UP/DOWN VOLUME key. The bottom button, and or, second key is the LOCK key.

(1) To UNLOCK the phone. GOTO the LOCK key. PRESS and HOLD until you see the screen read out display "KEYPAD UNLOCKED". You are now done.

(2) To RE-LOCK the phone. GOTO the LOCK key. PRESS and HOLD until you see the screen read out display "KEYPAD LOCKED". You are now done.

In Addition:

(3) To set AUTO-LOCK on the phone.

GOTO the MENU key. Located on the top left of the keypad on the front of the phone. The LARGE WHITE HORIZONTAL BAR directly under the word MENU on the screen readout. PRESS-IT ONCE. You now SEE the PREPAID ICON.

Next, locate the OK key, top center on the keypad. Directly below the middle of the screen readout.

Next, locate the UP-ARROW key directly above the OK key. By using the OK key PRESS-IT ONCE. Now you see the SETTINGS ICON.

Next, by using the OK key, PRESS-IT ONCE. Now you are in SETTINGS.

Next, locate the DOWN-ARROW key. Located directly below the OK key. PRESS-IT ONCE. PHONE SETTINGS should now be highlighted for you.

Next, by using the OK key, PRESS-IT ONCE. You are now in PHONE SETTINGS.

Next, GOTO the UP-ARROW, PRESS-IT ONCE. AUTO KEYPAD LOCK should now be highlighted for you.

Next, by using the OK key...(or...by using the WHITE HORIZONTAL BAR key, located directly below the OK on the screen read out). PRESS-IT ONCE. You are now in AUTO KEYPAD LOCK settings.

Next, by using the UP or DOWN ARROWS, GOTO the amount of minutes that you would like to set your phone to auto lock for.

Next, GOTO the OK key...(or...by using the WHITE HORIZONTAL BAR key, located directly below the screen read out). PRESS-IT ONCE. Your screen read out will now display, "DONE"

Your phone is now set to AUTO-LOCK when your phone has been at rest for the amount of minutes that you have selected.

If you would like your phone to lock sooner in order to place it in case, pocket, or purse. Simply refer to (2).

you must have set a phone lock code ..... if you have not then read the manual for the default phone lock code....

Steps to Reset Settings
This resets the phone to factory default settings.

1. With the flip open, press the OK key [Menu].
2. Press 9 or Settings & Tools.
3. Press 6 or Phone Settings.
4. Press 7 or Security.
5. Enter lock code. The default lock code is the last 4 digits of your phone number.
6. Press 5 or Reset Default.
7. Press OK after reading the warning message.
8. Select Revert by pressing OK. A confirmation message is displayed briefly before the phone resets itself.

Steps to Restore Phone
This erases all user data and contact information entered in phone memory.

1. With the flip open, press the OK key [Menu].
2. Press 9 or Settings & Tools.
3. Press 6 or Phone Settings.
4. Press 7 or Security.
5. Enter lock code. The default lock code is the last 4 digits of your phone number.
6. Press 6 or Restore Phone.
7. Press OK after reading the warning message.
8. Enter lock code. The default lock code is the last 4 digits of your phone number.

You can format the phone even without you knowing the password. because you dont need a code o do a format.
just do this.
turn off phone
press and hold (*) (3) (green or call key)
then press power switch to power up DONT RELEASE THE THREE KEYS Release the three keys if you see the NOKIA HANDSHAKE WELCOM SCREEN
then follow on screen prompts, enter needed details and you are done.
for your phone lock code, you cant guess or read by yourself, you need a special gadget (called box-jaf twister mxkey) and special software which is not free, and not practical to buy them just to read the code for your forgotten code. have it read by bringing the phone to an authorized cellphone repair shop. there is no free solution for code reading on BB5 phones, where your phone belongs. and please dont guess on the code, 10 attempts and your phone will show "PHONE RESTRICTED" and more costly to repair than to read code.

you can try this code #pwd# and press send, this may change your phone pin back to standard pin but im not realy sure because i just read something similar probs as u have...gud luck....

You could try to reset your phone.
Remove your sim card.
Enter *#2767*2878#
