You will need a phillips head screwdriver. There are four screws on the back of the TV that go into two rather long "legs" that go a few inches into the bottom of the TV. Just remove those screws and lift the TV off the stand. If you have your owner manual it will show you exactly where the screws are located otherwise just look for the heads of phillips head screws.

I am trying to mount my LG 37" on the wall and cannot figure out how to remove the stand that came with the tv

37LG30 - loosened the 4 screws on the back of the TV but base mount wouldn't come off. Found that had to remove the screws even though already loose so that doesn't bind in the holes. Did this by making the loose screws bind in the wholes. Using twisers in the whole would have done the same thing. o

LN37A550 FLAT SCREEN TV

To remove the base stand, place the TV face down on a smooth surface. Place a cloth underneath it to protect the screen. Remove the 4 phillip screws from the stand. The stand can now be removed. The set can with a cover plate you can use to cover the opening.
See page #86 in the User Manual.

LCD

Most Protron and Ultra branded bases can be easily removed by just unscrewing them. Just a few simple screws and it should come right off. May need to flip it over and just take a look at where it's screwed into the TV itself. Hope this helps!

Remove the base

There are 4 philips head screws down near the base, 2 on each side. Remove those and the base will slide out.

Good Luck!

Removal of base

Most LCD HDTV televisions come with the option to remove the base, refer to your manual for proper instructions on removing the base. But make sure the TV is certified for wall mounting before you do anything - some are not certified and will not be wall mountable.
