You do not say what type of battery you have - is it lead-acid, Ni--Cd or what? Have you checked the output of the charger to make sure it is not the battery that has died?
In theory a lithium-ion would be ok, but can you get a battery that firs? You still need a charger- which seem to cost nearly as much as a new drill.

That is a memory error. Remove and reseat the memory in your computer. If the error persists and you have more than 1 stick, try each stick separately to find the faulty unit. If you only have one stick, then the memory will need to be replaced.
