1
Turn off your phone and turn it over. Remove the battery cover. Take out the battery and SIM card. The SIM card looks similar to a computer microchip and is in either the right or left top corner.
2
Wipe the SIM card off with a cloth. Look at the SIM card for damages. If it is scratched or warped, have it replaced by your mobile provider.
3
Insert the SIM card back into place, if not damaged. Make sure that you hear a clicking sound, which ensures it is in place.
4
Turn on your Sony Ericsson phone. Press the "Menu" button. Use the navigational buttons to go to the "Settings" option.
5
Click the "Connectivity" option. Navigate to "Mobile Networks." Select "Networks" and your phone will search for nearby networks.
6
Click on your network. Press the "OK" button. Look at your phone to see if the error is gone.
7
Reset your phone. This could help remove the error. Press "Menu," "Settings" and "General." Select "Master Reset." Follow the instructions to reset your phone.
