Install replacement glass cooktop on thermador electric range
I have a thermador freestanding electric range with induction glass cooktop. Model #REF 30 RS. I need to replace the glass cooktop; I have the part (the glass cooktop, framed by a piece of metal) but don't know how to install it. It sits on top of the coils, and there are a number of small screws that point upwards from the stove itself. How do I get underneath those screws to get the old metal frame out and the new one in?
Re: Install replacement glass cooktop on thermador...

Thermador are top of the range appliances and they don't expect you to repair them yourself, you call for a service engineer. Service manuals are hard to come by. There is a service manual for a wall oven and the control panel may be similar. They look to have mounting clips. The buttons are proximity detectors, so not conductive.
Are you absolutely sure that you have a metal (not aluminum) pan on the stove? Place a magnet on the bottom of the pan and see if it sticks. If it does not, it won't work on your stove.
If the pan is induction compatible, then its likely that the stove is having a circuit board issue and trying to prevent a fire. If that's the case you should call Samsung for local service.

Model Number is always helpful when
requesting information.
This part should still be available from a local parts outlet. You'll need model and serial and color. Model and serial are located underneath the unit on its bottom. You won't like the price. Good Luck
