This is a common issue that occurs after 5-6yrs when you use a self clean cycle. Press and Hold the STOP/CANCEL button for 30 seconds, if it won't unlock then press and hold the light switch for 40 seconds. If the problem is still there then it means that the door lock is bad and needs replacement, leave it unplugged for 30 minutes, once it cools down it will open. You will need to replace the display. It is possible to troubleshoot the board, but that's a bit more labor intensive, and you'll need to check parts with a multi-mater, and know the required value for each.
Here's a link to Thermador parts. You will need your serial number to make sure that you are looking at parts for your series. Some parts in the same model have changed.

Your best bet is to replace the board. ive actually not heard of anyone rebuilding a control board. To rebuild that board your gonna need a understanding of what each component does. . Personally I dont think its worth attempting to do. I do know that the board is costly. So whast can suggest is that you contact the manufacturer and see what they can do for you. If the range is less than a year old, most likely they will replace the control board at no cost to you.

Hi, the solution to this problem depends on whether the oven is electric or gas.
If your electric oven's bake or broil element isn't working properly, either it isn't receiving electric power or the element or oven control may need to be replaced. In many cases, the wiring to the elements can be burnt or broken.

Usually I always find it's the ignightor. They are not to hard to replace. It's #5 on this looooong link

In alot of ovens preheat will cause the both the broil and bake element to come on. You are most likely getting heat from the broil element. This means either the bake element is bad or the relay on the oven control is bad. If the element shows resistance with an ohm meter then replace the oven control board.

Nope, cant burn the top and bottom at the same time. Top is for broil and bottom is for baking.

Thats the way stove have worked for years. If you want the top on, put it on broil, If you want temp contol and the botton on, put it on bake. You cant have your cake and eat it to. Both will not work at the same time, never have, never will.
