I think you need only plug the modem into the router, then plug other devices into the router, or hook up through wifi..

ADSL modem is not compatable with ADSL 2+ router's. You could get the exchange from the shop to ADSL router if its still under warranty.

The ADSL modem has been configured with encryption. Go to the wireless configuration in the ADSL modem to get these settings. please click on this link for further instructions :-

the wireless router is not properly configured... configure ur adsl and disable dhcp server in the same. and then disconnect it ... then configure ur wifi router with a static internet address that is from the adsl range . put the default gateway as the adsl and save it, connect the adsl to wifi and switch both of them on... ur done... but make sure if ur adsl address is 192.168.1.1 the ur wifi address is 192.168.10.1

TYPE-I Modem Configuration - Huawei SmartAX MT880 Modem / SmartAx MT882 ADSL Modem Configuration

SmartAx MT880 ADSL Modem has One ethernet Port.
SmartAx MT882 ADSL Modem has One ethernet Port and one USB Port.

Set your computer IP address as 192.168.1.2
( If you are using USB port, install USB driver first)

Open Internet Explorer in the Address bar type the URL http://192.168.1.1

You will be propted for Username and Password.

Username: admin

Password: admin


Click on Home


Click on WAN setting


Your WAN Setting should be as follows:

PVC No.: PVC0

Wan type: PPP

Connection Type : PPPoE

VPI / VCI : 0/35

Default Route : Enabled

Username: yourusername@dataone

Password: yourpassword

Use DNS : Enabled

Click on Apply.


You will be asked to save and reboot.

Select Yes


Once your modem is rebooted , the summary page will be displayed .


The "Green" status of PVC0 status indicated that you are now connected. (in Summary page)

SmartAx MT882 ADSL Modem ADSL LED will turn 'Orange' from 'green' when succesfully connected

You ADSL Modem's default username is admin and password is zoomadsl, If you have changed before you can reset the the device so default username and password will work. for further information you can check link below

Have you tried configuring the ADSL modem router for the internet connection?
Its possible that since you have changed the ADSL modem router, you may have to configure the ADSL modem router for it to work fine. The configuration depends on what Internet provider you have but you may try these steps for now:

1. Make sure the connections are correct. Connect the computer to the LAN port and the ADSL line to the port assigned for that behind the device.
2. Launch an Internet browser and access http://10.0.0.2 and press enter. If a dialog box appears, set the user name as admin and password as zoomadsl and press enter.
3. On the basic setup page of the ADSL router, set the appropriate encapsulation and other settings based on the settings of your provider. If you do not know the settings for your provider, there is a table specified on the user guide for the ADSL router. Here is the link: http://zoom.com/documentation/adsl/5590_UserGuide_EngD.pdf

That should be plug and play.

I would check with Motorla and see if there have been issues with it.
