There are 8 caps that need to be replaced on these monitors.
2x1000uf 16v
6x470uf 10v
It is an easy repair if you know how to do it. If not, then your local TV repair man can do it fairly cheaply and quickly.

It sounds like the power supply board on the monitor may be faulty (that or the backlight).
You could test it on another computer to see if does the same thing (or another monitor on your computer).
If the same problem occurs on this LCD you'll either need to get it repaired under warranty, or pay for it to be repaired. Or just throw it out.

1.- remove 14 screw on back
2.- remove front cover con un desarmador plano pequeño, como si pucharas hacia afuera y luego al frente por toda la orilla.
3.- quitar la base es solo con un simple apreton y click y listo, sale la parte de abajo y luego aprietas la parte de arriba y estiras. y ahi vas a ver unas tuercas te puedes ayudar con una llave española o perica pequeña.
y listo.

Make sure that everything is connected to the monitor properly. Go to the back of it and make sure the VGA or DVI cables are secured and then check the back of the computer to do the same.

It is possible that the video card in cpu is bad, try hooking up another monitor to the cpu (computer) if you have one that will let you know if it is the monitor or the computer video card, Could be as simple as the driver is missing.
