Wharfedale Digital TV will not store channels.

Have been given a Wharfedale HD Ready TV by a relative. I connected it up and installed digital channels successfully. However, when I put on standby or switch it off and then want to switch on again all channels seem to have been lost. For every channel I see the message"no information available" and there is a "X" sign next to the signal. I have downloaded an instruction manual but there is nothing in it to tell me how to "save" the channels. So, unless I retune it every time I want to watch it, there is no way I can use it.

Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Before replacing it, try a reset to this set, and then check.
There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here.

SOURCE: Tuning problem

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

How do I get channels on my TV

If you TV is HD ready (digital), then you need to connect the antenna to the unit so the tuner can identify the channels. If your TV is an older analog unit, you will need to use an analog to digital converter. The antenna will connect to the converter, and the converter will connect to the TV. The converter will tune the channels and send them to the TV on channel 3 or 4, depending upon the converter.

If you have a HD TV then you do not need a converter box, however you will still need an antennae to receive the channels. the antennae can be hooked up directly to you're HD tv.

Hi, I live in a flat in London with a shared rooftop aerial (no idea of spec). I have a Sony KDL-46X2000. The built-in freeview tuner doesn't seem to recieve any HD channels. Is the built-in tuner the...

Make sure you have a good connection from antenna to TV. Check antenna and cable and cable connection to TV. Select DIGITAL button on TV remote when wanting HD channels. Remember HD channels are always digital. Also, any given TV station may not be broadcasting in HD at a given time. They can broadcast in digital but in standard definition sometimes. Your TV has a built-in DVB-T tuner. Try executing a channel scan to pick up all available channels. On-screen menus go to Digital Setup, then Digital Tuning, you can auto-tune or manual tune channels. The TV should take a few min. to scan thru available channels and store the channels its finds. Check with anyone in your area to see if they get HD channels (it is possible to be outside of the range of some TV stations) Your TV is a 2006 model and should still be compatible with local digital TV broadcasts but keep in mind digital signals could change in the near future (DVB-T2) and you may need a tuner/converter box to make the TV compatible.

Blurry picture

In the store they use an HD source and connection. Is your cable box HD? It will have component or hdmi connections if it is.You have use either one to get HD everything else will be SD(standard def). And you have to be on an HD channel.Digital cable refers to how the signal is delivered doesn't mean its HD. SD channels on digital still look bad..

Can't get digital tv channels.

The W1700 is HDTV Ready but it does not have an internal digital tuner, it only receives NTSC coded signals, not ATSQ/QAM coded signals. In order to see tv in HD you will need an external tuner with component or DVI output that you can connect to the monitors inputs.

RCA D56W20 picture problems

More information is required to properly troubleshoot this problem. How is your television connected when you are watching HD? Do you have HDMI for this, do you have a satellite or digital cable box? For analogue are you using regular coax antenna (cable TV), or are you going through a cable or satellite box?
This could be related to the aspect ration setting. perhaps you ahve changed your aspect ratio from 16:9 to 4:3 or some other setting. If you are connected via HDMI, then the digital signal may be "normalizing" your picture during HD, but reverting back to the other setting.

Check you video settings very carefully. HD televisions are very difficult to tweak properly.
