The cursor on my Acer Aspire M touch screen has disappeared and I cant get it to come back, even after restarting the computer, and checking all Windows mouse settings. The cursor was working as of last night, but this morning, nothing.
How can i do any of the above if i dont have a cursor!!!!
Could be the Fn+F7 issue, but probably the VGA driver and synaptics sleep issue. If it wont come back by pressing Fn+F7 then goto the Synaptics site and grab the latest driver - http://www.synaptics.com/en/drivers.php. Unzip and install over the top of the current drier. Once you have installed this, reboot and like magic, you wont have a disappearing cursor anymore. Ive now done this on 4 different Aspire laptops - each a different model with the same issue in Windows 8.
First confirm that your touch pad is working or not. yor touch pad may be disabled or it may be dead. you can enable your touch pad in it's setting. you can connect an external mouse to your laptop to check that. or you can enable mouse keys in control panel.

There is a small ribbon cable that connects the touchpad to the motherboard. If there was any dramatic jostling of the system or it was disassembled for any reason it may have come undone. I have heard of this happening in the past.
If your lucky, someone just turned it off. The toggle for the mouse pad is Fn+F7 simultaneously.
Good Luck,

Fn F7 probably got pressed (turns on and off the trackpad. probably the dumbest thing to have a hotkey for)

turn on pc enter bios setup select default settings save and restart.have os disk in drive wait for screen display any key to start from cd.press any key to load disk.in options select install windows ( not repair) your system will find existing os ,now you can choose repair or install fresh copy.if you choose to install fresh copy delete partition first and create new partition and format.
