I had an Error code 11 and 90 a couple of weeks back. Basically some quick history - only 8 months old and from day 1 hot water has been inconsistent (and not as hot as would be expected).
Fast forward to recent Error codes 11 and 90. A lot of forums and posts have stated to check the exhaust for any clogs (this was not the case for me). I lost hot water again after doing the reset and power cycle suggested by many. After reading the installation manual (not the owners manual) I found 2 issues with my installation.
First problem was if you have exhaust venting greater than 33ft (add 5ft to your length for each 90 going out (for 2in pipe)) than a DIP switch on control board needs to be changed (with my unit DIP switch 7 toggled from off to on).
Second issue is Elevation - if you have greater than 610m (2000 ft ) but less than 1219m (4000 ft) elevation DIP switch 5 needs to be turned from off to on. Make sure to power down the controls and turn off the circuit breaker prior to changing any DIP switches. This fixed not only my loss of hot water, but also stabilized and increased my hot water (so far ***Knock on wood).
This worked for my situation and hopefully will help someone else in the future. If you do not feel comfortable (or do not possess the knowledge/ability) to make these changes and/or do not have the proper documentation available for your specific unit, make sure to call a qualified service technician.
Code 11 is ignition failure. The fix is almost always this, shut off power and gas. Remove front cover. find a small 3" rectulanguar cover with 3 wires going to it and remove this. there are three probes a flame sensor rod and ignitor. carefully clean the deposits off with emery paper and reinstall.
Probably a 12 or 21 code. Neither of which a Consumer can do ANYTHING about. Call Noritz 1-888-382-6568 and they will have a Regional Service/Repair Field Engineer call you and diagnose problem. This is a sophisticated appliance unserviceable to Consumer but you may diagnose it with the help of the FE for Service Contractor to repair. N069M-DV was discontinued 3 years ago replaced by N0751M-DV. Have you checked the inlet filter since you bought it? Is it on good soft water? It's a strong pretty dependable unit IF INSTALLED PROPERLY and MAINTAINED.
Try this. take the cover off and see if the problem still exists. Once I found out that the problem did not arise with the cover off I fashioned 4 brackets to hold the cover off 1/2". Since then I have not had a single problem and the unit works great.

Error code 36 does not show in any resource, including 2008 service manual, or 2012 product manual. Check that remote control display is illustrating the correct number. For example there is error code 35.

The NC250 (N-0931M) Series ASME Tankless Water Heater is a commercial grade water heater and many people install the vent wrong. PVC CANNOT be used for venting. The NC250-DV-ASME is for indoor use only. Improper venting will cause the symptom you describe.
This is probably a 16 error code. This code indicates the outlet water spiked above the set temperature for an extended period. It usually means the heater needs to be descaled or the manifold pressures need to be adjusted.
There are many reasons a tankless heater will stop heating water. The first thing I would look for is a flashing red light on the burner indicator. The flash break down goes as follows
continuous blinking - typically means ignition failure or the unit is overheating; look for visible water inside the unit, have your gas pressure checked, or check the flame rod/igniter for buildup of debris
three blinks - typically indicates 16 error code; typically resolved by performing a descale
4 or 5 blinks - exotic error codes; for these you should definitely contact Noritz tech support
If there is no flashing light, first check your filter for debris. If the filter is clean, your flow sensor is probably stuck. Again I'd recommend contacting Noritz tech support to help you clean the flow sensor.
There are several things I would look for: -Flashing burner light (indicates an error code) -Trying flowing more hot water. In the summer alot of times you'll flow less hot water because your cold water is warmer. If you flow additional hot water at your shower, it will ensure the unit stays firing -If the unit doesn't fire at all, you may have debris in your cold water filter or a stuck flow sensor. Call tech support to help you with cleaning a flow sensor.
This happens with Nortiz heaters. They just **** out. Likely the installation is very bad, but the unit can not tolerate that and it just dies. I recommend getting a Bosch 2700 or 715. If you want great efficacy, get the C-800. But follow the instructions! If it is installed correctly and you have the CO2 levels adjusted when it is installed, you will be very happy.
You have a 16 error code, abnormal output temperature. I recommend performing a descale to remove hard water deposits in the heat exchanger. This should resolve your issue.
