roller brush stopped spinning the reset button didn't work so i assumed the motor had gone so i replaced the brushbar motor but still wasn't working iv checked the switch and wires seem to be ok, so dont know what it could be why it isn't still working any ideas? thanks.

Hi, it’s likely when your original motor burnt out it damaged the PCB. The PCB is no longer a Available to buy new but you can get second hand ones on eBay

There are two switches to check. The push button switch on the handle and the other one that turns brush roll on when you recline the handle back.

Same problem but all fuses etc ok I found that there are two wires that move with the head,orange & white located in the left hand bottom panel(side of vacume). they had broken bought some conectors from maplin & all fine now.

How do I get the brush to spin on a Dyson DC 24. I have thoroughly cleaned everything and pressed the reset button.

Hi , if i am correct the brush bar is driven by a small electric motor inside the brush bar. It sounds as if the motor has gone or the small printed circuit board has a fault. You will have to get it checked.

Dyson DC 24 brushbar motor stops working , every so often , I press the reset button then it works for a while and stops again till I press reset again.

DC24 is equipped with a safety device which shuts off the brush bar if something jams it - for example, a shoelace or a rug fringe. From what you've described, it sounds like there may be something in the cleaner head which is jamming the brush bar. It's also important to remove any threads or hair from around the brush bar regularly. Please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:

You may also find the video below useful. Make sure that before you test the machine, you've reclined it into the vacuuming position, because the brush bar will never rotate when the machine is standing upright.

Revolving brush at front of machine has stopped spinning, what could be wrong

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC24. If the brush bar won't rotate, you may need to reset the machine - please follow the steps shown in the video below to do this. When pressing the red reset button, you may find it helps to use something like the eraser-end of a pencil - you should hear an audible 'click'.

Make sure you recline your DC24 into the vacuuming position before testing it, as the brush bar will not rotate when the machine is standing upright.

We have a Dyson ball vacum the brush stopped working it is no longer turning

There is a known issue with the DC24 brushbar motors. First thing to do is try the reset button. That is located on the left of the brush bar unit as you look at the machine. It is red. Press it and see if the brush bar works when the machine is reclined then. If it doesn't, you most likely need a brushbar motor. You can get one from here: Dyson DC24 brushbar motor.

If you've had the brush out to clean it you need to re-set the trip switch which is a red button at the right side of the brush simply press it in till it clicks.
