Will teh HL-2140 run on Windows ME?

You Go to Official Brother Printer Driver Page and Download latest Driver:-

check for the drivers,weater it is installed correctly

Brother HL - 2140 Drivers
Visit the above link from Brother Official Support. Select the Operating System and download the drivers. After in stalling the drivers, go to the Control Pannel - Printers, and set HL-2140 as default printer.

Uninstall the completly the printer driver form add and remove program and dissconect the printer cable and restart the computer. after that download the latest driver from herehttp://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/us/us/en/model_top/monolaserpri/hl2140_all.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=hl2140_all and install it.

uninstall the driver, disconnect printer, restart pc.
start CD installation *DON'T CONNECT THE PRINTER till it ask for it.
When it report error for missing file, go to browse then locate on CD install>eng>PCL>win2kxpvista>select BH2170W then click ok.
It should be working.

You should be able to use windows XP's home driver. Click on the link provided;

It's not listed on Brothers web site but you have nothing to loose.
Just hook up the printer to your system. There is a chance windows 98SE may have suitable driver within the operating system for the Brother HL-2140 Laser Printer.

brother doesn't supply drivers for WinME for this printer. also take note that WinME is not supported OS for most of new hardware and software.
