Native resolution of 1920 x 1080 forces the displayed area over to the left by about two inches, and is showing black vertical bar on the right hand side.
It happened to me. I changed computers but that did not solve the problem so it's not the video card. what did help was I turned off the monitor to reboot it then, using a different computer I reset the resolution to the lowest possible setting. when the monitor adjusted to the new resolution it reset itself. I then set it back to the higher resolution and everything was centered again.

SOURCE: acer x191w monitor background is moved to the right with about 2inches of black on left side.
I tried this and it still does not fix my problem. I went into Menu and hit reset by mistake and that totally screwed up my monitor. Now the left side gets cutoff and no matter what I change the resolution to it does not fix it.
Whjat should I do?

it is depends on the resolution and video card, maybe the video driver is not installe, or the resolution not configured correctly...
you can match your LCD's resolution as placed in the manual...but first you have to make sure that you installed the right video driver for your PC

The "native" resolution of the monitor is 1440 (not 1400) by 900.
Set the video-card to 1440-by-900 or try 1080-by-675 or try 720-by-450 or try 960-by-600.
Open Screen Resolution by swiping in from the right edge of the screen, tapping Search (or if you're using a mouse, pointing to the upper-right corner of the screen, moving the mouse pointer down, and then clicking Search), entering Display in the search box, tapping or clicking Settings, and then tapping or clicking Display.
Tap or click Adjust resolution.
Tap or click the Resolution list and find the resolution marked (Recommended). This is your monitor's native resolution-usually the highest resolution your monitor can support.
Monitors can support resolutions that are lower than their native resolutions, but text won't look as sharp and the display might be small, centered on the screen, edged with black, or stretched.
