We have a gas wall oven that is getting f3 and f5 error codes. the unit still works we just have to push the cncel button and turn the oven back on again. we cooked ribs for 1.5 hours and the f3 code came up 3 times.
(((F-3)))
This is a Shorted or open oven temperature sensor (RTD). Check the following.
Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.
(((F-5)))
This is a Watchdog and hardware conflict.
This is not repairable. you will need to replace the control board or (erc)-(clock)

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Fixya.
It's possible it could be the senser, just two screws hold it on and the wires unplug with a connector.
As to understand it in details whether the sesor is the bad part you can use a ohm meter to test the sensor, it should read about 1100 ohms at room temperature, if so, then your oven sensor is good.
You can get a cheap ohm meter at Radio Shack or any hardware store. If your oven sensor tests good, then your control board would need to be replaced.
That would help to resolve the issue.
God Bless.

could be a probe thats that brass looking rod you see when you open the oven f3 is oven probe code it controls the temp some of them you can take the two screws out on the in side and pull the probe out far enough to get to the connector to change some you have to pull the oven
