If you have previously connected the recorder:1. Make sure the recorder is connected correctly.
2. Open the 'System' control panel: Start menu -> Control Panel -> System.
3. Click the 'Hardware' tab and then click the 'Device Manager' button.
4. Right-click the item that shows as 'Digital Voice Recorder' and choose 'Uninstall' or 'Remove'.
5. Disconnect the recorder.
If you have the software already installed:1. Open the 'Add / Remove Programs' (Pre-Vista/Windows 7) OR 'Programs and Features' (Vista/Windows 7) control panel: Start menu -> Control Panel -> Add / Remove Programs (Pre-Vista/Windows 7) OR Programs and Features (Vista/Windows 7).
2. Click 'Olympus Digital Wave Player' and choose 'Change / Remove' or 'Uninstall'.
Please restart the computer before reinstalling if you had connected the recorder or installed the software previously. Digital Wave Player (2.0):

SAVE to the desktop
RIGHT CLICK on the DigitalWavePlayer.zip and LEFT CLICK on EXTRACT ALL
CLICK on NEXT, Then NEXT again, Then FINISH
After unzipping the file, click on the SETUP.EXE file to begin installation.

RIGHT CLICK on the DigitalWavePlayerUpdate214.zip and LEFT CLICK on EXTRACT ALL
CLICK on NEXT, Then NEXT again, Then FINISH
After extracting the file, click on the SETUP.EXE file to begin installation.
For 64-bit systems, save the driver to the desktop and run the installation within it:

I wish that Olympus would clarify this compatability issue on their packaging !
