Setup s ays drive c not registering

you just can not shift windows like copy and past from drive c to drive d. if you try to delete system files of windows it prevent action what may create damage to run windows properly. Keep your windows in drive c and if you want to remove copied files of windows from d, just format it. before format copy other files without windows as everything will erase on drive d. to format just right click of drive d> select format from menu. then copy back necessary files. Note: windows is system software called operating system, you can not setup or use to copy like other files and folders. Number of system files are hidden there.

Format the drive with win XP or use a third-party HDD software like partition magic.

keep in mind that the choice of a correct file system is very important, "NTFS support volumes up to 16EB" while FAT12 is limited to 32 MB.

You may have to try formatting your HDD again. If you have bad sectors on the hard drive, an incomplete format will not be able to flag back sectors so your windows install might be trying to copy to a bad location on the HDD. (speculation) your HDD may have no bad sectors, but this is one example of what could happen with an incomplete format.
You might also have a dirty install CD. take the CD out and look at it. If it is full of finger marks you might want to clean it and try again.

How will you confirm?
Follow the steep. Press win key +R >type gpedit .msc and soon an windows will open.
Press win key +R>ms config and soon an windows will open.
Press win key + R REGEDIT an windows will open soon.
Go to tools option >folder option >view>check on show hidden file

Check off hide protected operating system file
Check off hide extension known type file.
BUT still there are no hidden file in drive C:

>start>program>accessories>system tools >system restore >set earlier date. If you have the strong virus you can not do that, then you should better to copy your data if necessary
follow step>set your hard disk in another computer .before install be ensure that .another pc is well condition.

>show hidden folder can see all system file >can open task manager>run type ms config >enter, it will be open windows>run type gpedit.msc> enter, it will be show.>run type regedit enter ,it will be open .think your another pc run in ok condition. Then type gpedit.msc and hit >administrative templates>system>turn off auto play>select enable>click down arrow >select all drives.



SET IT FROM BOOTH SIDE BECAUSE THERE ARE TWO SIDES >Go tools> 1 folder options>views>check on show hidden files and folders>2 check off hide extension >3 check off hide protected.

Now auto run program off. you can see and delete easily all the hidden unnecessary file .auto run file. Placed virus affected hard disk in this pc.explore drive select autorun/recycler/system volume information by dragging and delete it. Don't do the system drive for ensure r click on my computer >manage>disk management>identify system drive >and system drive letter>
Now You can copy your file and store in another drive which formatted emediate.And you can format drive one after one and transfer all the file to the formatted drive .Switch off the pc and put your pc again and install your os and set the pc same way Then type gpedit.msc and hit >administrative templates>system>turn off auto play>select enable>click down arrow >select all drives.
If you did not have the cd rom , you should create a bootable flash. follow the link.

Hi,
Your pc has afected by virus so clean pc .
You want to save your data with out Format all thepartition ,download hiren boot, from the bellow link.

Now burn the ISO file, under image burning option,from nero ,in the another pc which is run's well. Restart pc, the cd will start soon, if the hiren boot cd ,willnot run, set bios setup. Now click herefor BIOS SETUP ,restart again and select miniwindows and delete system volume information and RECYCLER from all the partition or drives except "C"drive(Partition C:)
Because "systemvolume information" and "RECYCLER" is the Heart of Castle. If it not removethe virus ,download bootable f secure,click here And write the ISO under image burning option,from nero and boot from CD. Now you can scan for fix.
Insall clean OS, delete partition C: and create C same .
