SOURCE: video playing in fast forward with no sound

This is a really simple problem and easy to solve.  Unfortunately the videos you've recorded cannot be changed back because they have been recorded in Time Lapse mode.
With the camera switched on in Video Mode turn the control dial on the back (this is the dial to the right of the LCD screen).  This will change the settings from TIME LAPSE to STANDARD.  There are actually 6 different modes but the best one for normal videos is STANDARD.  There is a HIGH RESOLUTION setting,  however these record fewer frames per second (fps) so whilst the quality is better per frame,  there are half the amount of fps so the the movie will look at bit jerky.
It's really easy to accidentally twist the dial when holding the camera,  so always check the icon in the top right of the LCD before recording to make sure its just a yellow camera in a yellow square.
This should be problem solved for all future recording.

SOURCE: problem w/ canon g9 camera

you may have knocked the control dial to time lapse mode, one setting away from standard mode. Having just experienced this on our new camera. Now know what caused it, does anyone know how to recover the videos that are quick in their playback?
thankyou

SOURCE: Every time I try to play back a video, it goes super fast and I don't know how to slow it down!

Are you sure you have not recorded the video in time-lapse mode? Could be worth checking. Once in the Video setting, you can use the thumb ring to change video mode - one of these modes is normal and one is time lapse (there are five or six others).

SOURCE: Video Playback in fast mode (canon ixus 80)

Oh my, sounds like you accidentally recorded in "Time Lapse" mode (one of the specialized video features of your camera). Unfortunately, there's no way to convert the already taken video back to "Standard" video with sound, I'm sorry. However, you'll obviously need to set your camera back to standard mode for future videos. Press the "Function" button while in video mode. Then press left/right to select "Standard" video.

Video too fast during playback on my Camera

I have a Powershot SD1000 and it should be similar.
When the video plays very fast it was probably filmed in Timelapse mode( which fast- forwards the video) When you are in video mode press the SET Button and set the camera to Standard mode

I have a canon SD 580. When I playback the video clip it's always in fast forward mode and I can't play it normal speed. Any help?

Make sure you are shooting your movies in "Standard" mode. If you have the mode set to something else, especially "Time Lapse", the playback may not match 'natural' motion.

In any case, you can control the speed of the playback. When you first enter the movie playback mode, there should be a movie control bar along the bottom of the LCD. Instead of the "Play" button, select the "Slow Motion Playback" button (single arrow with single bar next to the normal Play button), and control the speed with the left or right arrows on the multi-controller.
