I need formatting my mc57a

After replace new hdd, u need to performs following:

Update of HDD program data and UI data.

1) Create partitions. (In case of using the download jig, this is not necessary.)
While pressing [3] and [CLEAR] button, turn the power ON.
When "Firmware Version Up Mode" appears on the LCD, key in [3] and press the [START]
button.

2) Format the HDD. (Setting Mode (08-690: 2))

3) Update with the download jig or USB storage.

4) Format the HDD. (Setting Mode (08-690: 2))
* When the FAX unit (GD-1150) is installed.
Start up with the FAX Clearing Mode (1*)
Perform the 1*-100 (FAX Set Up), 1*-102 (Clearing the image data) of the FAX Clearing Mode.

YOU NEED TO FORMAT YOUR PHONE NOT MEMORY CARD.FORMATTING THE PHONE WILL SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM.AND TO AVOID PROBLEM IN FUTURE INSTALL APPLICATION MANAGER ON YOUR PHONE AND WHENEVER YOUR PHONE SAY MEMORY FULL JUST USE THIS SOFTWARE TO COMPRESS MEMORY.

THERE ARE TWO METHOD TO DO FORMAT NOKIA HANDSET.

1. MANUALLY.

1. OPEN MENU>SETTING>PHONE SETTING>FACTORY SETTING.
2. PRESS O.K. A MENU WILL POP UP LIKE YOU LAST ALL YOUR DATA PRESS O.K.
3. IT WILL ASK FOR CODE ENTER CODE( DEFAULT CODE IS 12345).
4. PRESS OK IT WILL DO FORMAT YOUR PHONE.

2. USING CODE.

1. DIAL *#7370# ON MAIN SCREEN.
2. A MENU WILL POP UP LIKE FORMATTING PHONE.
3. PRESS OK IT WILL ASK FOR CODE ENTER 12345 AND PRESS OK
4. IT WILL DO FORMAT FOR YOU.

3.METHOD NO.3(FOR S60 SERIES MOBILE)

1. SWITCH OFF YOUR PHONE.
2. WHILE SWITCHING ON PRESS THREE BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME.(1.GREEN DIALING KEY 2.*KEY,3 KEYPAD NO. 3 KEY) WITH POWER ON BUTTON.
3. A MESSAGE WILL POP UP LIKE FORMATTING. HOLD BUTTON FOR 3 SECONDS AND RELEASE THEM AFTER THAT.
4. YOUR PHONE WILL RESTART AND ALL YOUR DATA WILL BE GONE

You'll need to format it, although if they really wanted to see what data you had they'd still be able to recover it. The only way to make sure they can't is to destroy the hard drive, but formating should be ok unless you have sensitive data on there eg. customer info. Even then it's more to obey data protection laws because very few people will want to try to recover the data.

1. Get a windows disc.
2. When the computer first comes on press f12 to bring up the boot menu,
3. Select the cd/dvd drive.
4. Follow instructions on screen.
5. Before reinstalling the OS, format the drive to remove the data.
6. Install OS, by following instructions on screen.

You'll now have a clean install.

1) In your Motorola L9, go to:-
MENU---->SETTINGS---->INITIAL SETUP---->MASTER RESET(this is to reset the settings)
Enter the security code to reset the phone

2) After this, go to:-
MENU---->SETTINGS---->INITIAL SETUP---->MASTER CLEAR
Enter the security code to clear data on phone memory.
(this is to clear all the data from phone, please note that this does not clear data from the memory card, to clear data from memory card, connect your phone to computer and then format it.)

We briefly mentioned using junk data to overwrite the iPhone's flash as a last-ditch method of securely clearing off your user data yesterday, and although we were half-joking, that's more or less your only option until Apple provides a proper secure erase feature. Security researcher Rich Mogull has helpfully laid out the steps for you, and they're basically what you'd expect: restore your iPhone, don't sync any personal data to it, and then manually transfer three different playlists large enough to fill the flash. Essentially you're doing a manual three-pass overwrite, which is pretty much exactly the long and tedious process it sounds like -- but we wouldn't dream of selling or giving away our iPhones (or any other phone with personal data on it) without struggling through it.

Backup all data that you want to keep by copying them to the hard drive of your PC and then try to format the card: In Windows Explorer, right-click on the drive that represents the card and choose "Format...".
When done, format the card again in your phone - look for the proper menu item. This is important, because the phone may need to format the card in a different way than the computer did.
Then you may again transfer it to the computer and restore the data from your backup.
If formatting fails, the card seems to be defective and needs to be replaced.

Umm... Vague, but I'll work with it. Connect it to a PC. under "My Computer", find your device, and right click it. You should see "Format Device", or "format".This will remove any and all media from the device, as well as clear your settings.

At this point it sounds like you will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Ok button - right arrow to Mode Menu - down arrow to Card tab - right arrow to card setup - right arrow to format option. You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the card and it can be used again. Make sure you download all images prior to formatting as once the card is cleared all data is lost.

Formatting
