There's no way to override the low ink warning. If one of the cartridges is out of ink, you won't be able to continue printing.

Refilled cartridges will not report or reset the ink levels.

The color is off on Lexmark s415

Sounds like you're not getting yellow. Does your printer have a "nozzle check" or "clean" mode?

Why won't my printer print black ink?

U may want to check the settings, sometimes with a few printers I've owned they give an option of using only color inks in cases where the black ink is out.

Printer says almost out of ink.

The low ink warning is normal if you are using remanufactured cartridges. Even if you are not, OEM companies place a chip inside of each cartridge that counts the number of pages that you print. When the cartridges reach a certain number of pages, they automatically tell your printer that you are running low on ink. The warning can usually be bypassed by clicking the “Resume” or “OK” button, or by disabling your ink level indicator. Here is a link to a tip on bypassing the warning on Lexmark printers as well:

Changed black ink caertridge but still getting the low ink warning

If you are using a remanufactured cartridge, the low ink warning is actually normal. Since the printer cannot detect the amount of ink in the cartridge, the OEM companies place a chip inside of each cartridge that counts the number of pages that you print. When the cartridges reach a certain number of pages, they automatically tell your printer that you are running low on ink. Unfortunately, when the cartridges are remanufactured, the chip is unable to be reset. Here is a link to a site that sells remanufactured cartridges on how to bypass the low ink warning on Lexmark printers:

Lexmark x500 series printer. just refilled cartrige, keep getting low ink message. how do I override?

I propose a class-action suit on behalf of everyone who owns a lexmark X5400 series. this is clearly by design that the system claims 'low ink' after only about 85 pages of little more than black and white documents, and then won't allow you to refill and replace the cartrige. I've attempted numerous little tricks that work with other systems, but the manufacturers of Lexmark seem to have gone to great lengths to prevent anyone from getting around replacing the ink cartrige. I know there have been other cases very similar to this. They wouldn't stand a chance. I propose revenge.
