SOURCE: Ice Maker Not Making Ice

Ice maker was installed properly, when you put the arm down it doesn't call for water to fill unit. It doesn't make any kind of noises at all. The water is turned on and all plugs are in there are no kinks in the line but when the arm is truned down for it to call for water nothing happens

The is for a frigidaire refrigerator.Ice maker is all new..

SOURCE: Ice maker not making ice.

These Icemakers have plastic gears on the modules that are breaking, also some have thermostats that are malfunctioning. I recommend haveing an experianced tech look at the unit to see if you need the new upgraded indoor ice maker.

SOURCE: Ice Maker leaking water in freezer and won't stop making ice

The filter should be before the fridge and should not affect it it sounds like the water valve from the fridge is defective .Other possibility is the icemaker head is defective and needs changing.

Why doesn't our new icemaker in a whirlpool ed5 fridge work?

Make sure water line valve is turned on where it taps in to water line, and that ice shut off is down not up, check to see if water is in ice tray or if it is dry if no water or ice is present then water is not getting to it if water tap valve is open then water valve in ice maker is off or ice shut off arm is up instead of down. Try pouring warm water in ice tray see if that will get it started.

The freezer side every 2 to 3 days the fan makes a noise and the ice begins to melt. It drips from the ice dispenser. The following day every thing is frozen again. The refrigerator stays cold.

This may sound a bit harsh but turn off the water to your icemaker for several days. What your describing sounds like the icemaker water valve is leaking water by the diaphram and is leaking into your freezer. This is a common symptom of failing ice maker water valves. I just went through this on my own personal refrigerator where ice was building up. After changing the icemaker water valve all the ice build up ceased.
So turn off the icemaker water supply for a few days.. break out the ice trays if need be and see if the ice build up stops. If it does then the ice maker water valve will need to be replaced. Fyi they run $38 to 55.00 on average and you can change it yourself. Should the need arise here is a link to a replacement water valve source: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=113933&diagram_id=337176#d337176

Water leaking into ice cubes

Good day,
The system is designed so the ice maker tells the water valve on the back rear of the machine to add water for approx. 7 seconds just before the end of the harvest cycle.
If the valve is slow to close then the problem you described would occur. It is a common problem.
The ice maker could as well hold the water valve on too long, but is rare.
The valve cannot be repaired, it needs to be replaced.

Water line from house supply sprung a leak just before going into the ice maker control unit in the lower right cornor of the frig. After replacint the water line the water did not flow into the control...

What once was a leak is now no flow and no response when trying to turn on ice maker? Is the valve where the ice maker line taps into turned back on? If it's back on, first turn it off, take loose water line as close to ice maker as possible, then have someone else turn valve at tap slightly on while you watch for water flow. If no flow, start back-tracing your connections until you find the blockage. Most water connections of this type have a in-line filter. Is it clogged? If you have water pressure as close to the ice maker as you can test, next you may need to troubleshoot the ice maker it's self. Let me know?

Too much water is being dispensed when filling to make ice cubes. Water pours into ice bin and freezes. What to do?

You have to close the water supply tap from the source a little. This will decrease the volume of water being pumped into the ice maker. If this doen't work then you need to replace the solenoid valve that feed the water to the ice maker.

Not making ice

canyou acess theice amker assy itself??
can you look intor the icemaker make sure nothings blocking ice maker from turning(ice cubed jammed in )
look into the fill tube make sure itsnot frozen
thinkin htis machin hasan electronic "eye" if so htere a trouble shoooter under the kickplate explaining the mechanism
lastly theres a white cover plate on the front of the assy. remove the cover and loook at the white gear in the center of unit. look real close at the tabsholding that gear on.MOST common causeof failure is the ice torques the main gear and those tabs snap. if htats the case , replace the ice maker assy.
