Mixing paddles come off during mixing, am using teflon tape on shaft to hold paddles on, what is a better fix?

The mixing paddles keep coming off during the mixing cycles, I have put teflon tape on the shafts to increase the diameter, so the paddles fit on snugly. But this is only a temporary fix, and we do not bake the bread this way as it may not be safe. Does anyone know of a more permanent fix that will also allow me to safely cook bread in the pan to without having to stop, and remove paddles and teflon tape?

Sound like you need new shafts or paddles and I know the paddles can cost $30 each. so think about a new model or buy one at a thrift store and try those paddle or use the machine. I got a great one for $10 . :)

The mixing paddle of my Cuisinart CBK-200 disconnects during the cycle and stops working on kneading the dough. Is there a fix for this issue?

Hi,

Please check whether this issue persists with lower viscosity dough. It could be the pressure and/or thickness of the dough that's causing the disconnection. Or it your device is over a certain age you might need to replace the mixing paddle or replace the part that holds it still within the bread maker. You can call Cuisinart to ask if there has been a recall due to this as well. Their phone number is 1-800-726-0190

Thank you.

Waterheater mixing valve leaking

Turn off the main water valve. Undo any fittings that are leaking. Using gas line compound or teflon tape on the threads put it back together and tighten with 2 plumbers wrenches or two crescent wrenches.

Mixing paddle slips off pin

We have never heard of this problem before. I spoke with our KitchenAid technician as well and he has never seen this problem in the over 20 years of working on KitchenAid mixers.

Are you sure that the beater is hooked on all of the way, and there isn't anything in the beater stopping it from turning and clicking into place? Is the pin stuck? If the pin is not sticking out all of the way, or the spring is bad/damanged it is possible the beater could come loose. You would want to replace the agitator shaft.

The paddle keeps coming off during mixing and leaving a black stain in the dough

Hi, The sealed bearing located on the bottom of the bread pan has failed. This bearing is sealed with lubricant to allow the paddle shaft to spin easily. The black stain you see is the lubricating grease. You need a new bread pan. Hank

My paddle keeps coming off when the dough is mixing. What's up with that?

Your paddle is probably worn out and has too much play in it. Some play is necessary to get it off for cleaning but it shouldn't be so loose it is coming off during kneading.

B2300 Bread Machine: Good morning - Both paddles in the machine come of...

I am experiencing the same thing. I've spoken with a rep at 1-800-231-9786 and they said that if my machine was still under warranty they would replace the paddles and the pan. I purchased mine in 2007 and therefore my cost to replace the above would be $68.00 Cdn. That's getting close to purchasing a new machine. Does anyone have any ideas... wrap the rotating shafts with plumber's tape or anything else that might ensure the paddles will stay in place?

Lopsided 1.5 lb loaf

This sounds like a mixing problem. Put all the liquids in the bottom, then the dry, and finally the yeast on top so it mixes last.

After the first mixing, the dough should be a ball with nothing sticking to sides.

MEASURE ingredients carefully!

Verify that the paddle turns freely. If it doesn't, then dis-assemble the paddle and clean bearing and shaft. Lube with foodsafe grease before re-assembly.

The mixing paddle is stuck in the pan. I and my husband have tried pulling it out. I've soaked it in boiling water and I wrapped a dishcloth under the edge to get a better grip and it won't come out.

Often you can remove a "C" clip on the bottom of the pan holding a driving bar and carefully drive the shaft out, paddle and all.

Once it is out paddle should be easier to work on.

Clean the bearing and re-lube with foodsafe grease and reassemble.

The paddle will not stay on the shaft while mixing dough.

Probably the paddle and shaft are worn. Both are replaceable. Buy a new Paddle and a Kneader mounting shaft unit (Part No. ADA 29A115)
