    I have tried a vga to s-video converter and the picture is garbled. I have tried hdmi to dvi and the computer does not recognize a plug and play monitor present. Still working on a solution.

    when I connect the acerone to tv with vga cable and 1 2 settings to defaut monitor but only wall paper show on tv no icon etc shows my tv is vizio

    I have a philips lcd tv without a vga in port. So I guess the only way to solve this is through a transformer of some kind...

You cannot connect your acer aspire one via HDMI as its not having HDMI port. But you can connect via VGA cable and most of the TV supporting HDMI will also definitely support VGA input.

No the aspire one only has standard VGA output (Analogue)
There are Convertors that will change this for you but they are quite expensive i believe

Acer Aspire 5315 doesn't come with an HDMI port. So, you have the following options:
1. Use a VGA Cable to connect the PC to TV if the TV has PC-Input facility
2. Use an S-Video cable to the TV's S-Video-in port if the TV has it

3. Use and S-Video to HDMI converter if the TV has HDMI port

You can connect too your TV using the program on Windows. If you go to your control panel and click on Personalization. This will bring you to your appearence go to bottom of page and click on monitor settings. Once you are there you can select how you can see TV. Make sure you have the HDMI connected to bothe the computer and television.

Hi, I want to connect my acer aspire notebook to my tv, how do i go about doing this?
Alright didn't really know what acer model you have, but this is pretty easy, you can attach your Tv to either oneof the external source outlet on your acer and Press the FN button between your left ctrl and alt key. There should be a symbol in the F keys exm, (f1, f2 ) in which i believe acer is the F5 key... that looks like a laptop'a sqaure.... Press those two keys and depending if you have it hook up to the HDMI or VGA, just press until you find the correct port via vga/svideo/hdmi.
