We found a repairman!!
Our 10 yr old EMS-9 Interactive Health chair just stopped working about 6 mos ago. After getting no help at all from Interactive Health, except to buy a new chair (!), we finally found a man who fixed it. It was a pinched wire in the remote. A simple fix. He tried to charge us only $20.00! (We gave him much more, it was worth it) We love this chair! You would think that the company would be more forthcoming with repair options if they want people to recommend their products. Anyway, hope this helps someone else too. I have an ems.6 chair for bout 16 yrs, still works except the the band that goes around the bottom which makes the rollers go up and down pops off. (i took apart the back and whenever it put it back on, it just keeps popping off, when i use the rolling up and down feature. It stays on when i am only using the rollers.
I think maybe i might need a new band.
what do you guys think and if so, where can i find a new part to test out this theory?
thats the drive belt, you can put them back on, but if it keepsd coming
off you need a new one, I don't know if the company will give you one or pretend they dont' have them, just try to get a model number and call if they say they don't have it, go to a store, get a new model number and give it to them, they probably all have the same belt anyway. I got 2 from them years ago, but they aren't very helpful anymore unless you have a new chair. They don't care about past customers.
thank you yes, thats exactly it, the drive belt. i think i am going to have to go into a store and see if they have one similar. they probably will claim i HAVE to buy a new chair, but everything works great still other than the belt coming off when ever i use the rolling up and down function. maybe its been stretched too many times now:-(

I have three EMS-12 unused directly from the factory (three different colors).. They look new but have been in boxes for many years and work perfectly.. I can sell one of the chairs for $600 each plus tax with P/U in San Diego..

DON'T BITE!!!! My husband bought me one of these "deals" on ebay. He's a career firefighter -- 32 years! -- which means we aren't exactly well-to-do; so, this chair represented a major investment for us. Well, the chair quit working within the first month, and the company just threw us under the bus. Human Touch sucks, ya'll. We're stuck with this great big monstrous chair that doesn't do anything.
EMS 12 Get away chair. You are correct, the customer service stinks, they just tell you to throw away a 3000 dollar chair and buy another one, when I have one that needs minor repair. I won't buy another one from them because they will do the same thing. And they are snotty to boot, when you talk to them. Also I don't want to buy one of their newer chairs, they don't rub as well as the old ones. They need to get the online bad publicity so that when others think of buying and research they will be prepared to throw their chair away when its 10 years old.

I own the same model and started having some similiar problems you seem to be having. My chair had a three year warrenty which i couldnt use when it started to stop working, but i called the customer service and was told that this model was no longer being made and that nothing could be done. I called quite a few times trying to get different anwsers but they were all the same. So you may want to consider a new chair. Sorry :(

is there a place to just get parts for the interactive health ems 12 my back pad had worn from use and was doing the same thing except I got the rollers back in place
I had the same problem of the rollers just stopping one day. I believe it was because my daughter was standing up in the chair. Anyway, I called customer service and they sent me an email with photos and instructions on resetting it. That worked. That was a few years ago. The rollers stopped again a couple of weeks ago. I haven't been able to find the reset instructions that I had before. Still looking.
We have this same chair EMS9+ model and just moved, we plugged the chair back in and everything but the back rollers work. On the remote it has a storage icon but its not a button. We do not have the reset instructions. Does ANYONE know how to resest the chair?
I have a feeling our chair went into storage mode and needs to be reset. Please help!
