sounds like the condenser fan motor is bad check in the bottem back of the unit if the fan works if not replacing it is worth on a 10 yr old machine

Yes the fan motor can be the problem but I would disconnect the wiring from fan and use a voltage meter to see if the problem is coming from mother board or like some models the fan also turns off when freezer door is open, meaning bad door switch. Which they are two inlets located in the center back of the refrigerator from the ceiling adjacent to the floor of the top freezer. the Freezer back t-shape vent goes down to these inlets where the percipitation is coming from.
