The heater has to calabrated, this is done with a special remote control, that the people have you bought it from. It is a simple fix

This indicates a power fault inside the actual heater. Have you tried unplugging the heater, letting it sit for a good 2 minutes, and replugging it back in? If the problem persists you will unfortunately need a repair. Please let me know if you need more information on this. Unless you want a new house, stop using that heater immediately. There are severe internal electric problems with your heater. Since it's already 3 years old, I'm not sure it's worth trying to repair. With what you described, I'm surprised it didn't trip one of you circuit breakers.
Be safe, Don't continue to try to use this heater.
