The machine is only six months old and is woring fine except it is not dispensing any rinse aid during the rinse cycle. I put a mark on the bottle and the rinse aid has not gone below this mark. I had an old CHF40 and i could take off the bottom front panel and fix things. The panel on the new machine has no screws. Does it just pull off. The instruction manual is useless.

E5 is a drain error - machine is not draining - check drain hoses - pull out machine if needed - check air gap. hope this helps. jimmy.

The psi should be in the green on the gauge,20-25.The 10 second rinse cycle is the default setting.
SOURCE: hobart glasswasher: code E3, not working, not pulling rinse aid
The error you see is that the dishwashers chemical board (located on the back of the machine) isnt sensing the chemical.First thing to check is remove the lower front panel,2 philip screws. On the left you will see 2 pumps one on top of the other.
They may be marked (det and r/a),turn the dishwasher on these 2 pumps should run.If they dont your pump may be bad or the control board.Run a full cycle to make sure.
If they do run i would make sure the standpipe in the r/a bottle isnt kinked or the tubing.Let me know,i'm a hobart tech.

Hi, error 5 on a Hobart Ecomax CHF40 relates to a faulty thermostat, it isn't a common or generic problem with this model, i have found them to be very reliable, its possible the probe has scaled up which may have caused the problem. i can be contscted through www.easicook.co.uk if you need any further assistance
