Photo tray doesn't work

My photo tray used to work perfectly, then all of a sudden stopped working! Each time I load the photo paper in the photo tray it tries to take the paper, but the paper stays in the tray and I get an error message: clear paper jam, then press OK. The only problem is that there doesn't seem to be any paper jam, the photo paper is still in the tray! I've opened the back and looked, but can't see any paper jammed. The main tray works fine. Please help... thanks! Brenda

Thanks for helping... I went to the hp site... but not sure what you meant by f 4235... can u explain?

The main tray prints fine, but the photo paper in the photo tray won't feed. I've restarted the printer, cleaned the rollers and separator pad and it still says there is a paper jam and that I should clear it. Do I need to take it for repair or is there some way I can fix it myself?

Paper not feeding for epson nx400

Check the following:

  • • If paper doesn't feed, remove it from the sheet feeder. Reload it against the right side, behind the tab, then press in the tab on the edge guide and slide it against the paper. Make sure the paper is not above the arrow mark inside the edge guide.

  • • If multiple pages feed at once, remove the paper from the sheet feeder, fan the edges to separate the sheets, then reload it.

  • • If the paper doesn't eject fully, you may have set the wrong paper size. Press the c:\users\home\appdata\local\temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.gif Stop button, then open the scanner and remove the paper. Select the correct paper size when you reprint.

  • • If it's wrinkled when it ejects, the paper may be damp or too thin. Load new paper.

  • • Make sure you use new, smooth, high-quality paper, that is not curled, creased, old, or too thin. Make sure to load it printable side up.

  • • Do not load paper with holes punched in it for insertion in a binder.

  • • Make sure you load only up to the recommended number of sheets. If you're printing on both sides of the paper, try loading fewer sheets.

• If the paper jams, do the following:

1. Gently pull any jammed paper out from the output tray or sheet feeder.

2. To eject the jammed paper, try turning the Epson Stylus NX400 off and then back on.

If that doesn't work and paper is stuck inside, turn off the Epson Stylus NX400. Open the scanner, remove the jammed paper and torn pieces, close the scanner, and turn the Epson Stylus NX400 back on.

Loading your paper
Paper loading tips:
● Load paper with the side to be printed facing down.
● You can print photos and documents on a wide variety of paper sizes, from
8 x 13 cm (3 x 5 inch) up to 22 x 61 cm (8.5 x 24 inch). The 10 x 15 cm
(4 x 6 inch) photo paper is available with and without tabs.
● Before loading paper, pull the Main paper tray out (use the Main tray release or
the tray grips) and slide out the paper-width and paper-length guides to make
room for the paper. After loading paper, adjust the guides to fit close to the edges
of the paper without bending the paper. When finished loading paper, push the
Main tray back in all the way.
● Load only one type and size of paper at a time in the same tray.
● After loading paper, extend the Output tray extension to catch your printed pages.

When I try to print photos from a memory stick it fails to print and tells me to load paper glossy side down even though there is enough paper properly loaded. When I take out the paper the top sheet has...

The problem is that the metal paper stop is not fully recessing into the guide at the rear of the printer and the photo paper is catching on the lip on top of the stop. Take the back cover off the printer and check that the guide has not moved out of position. Also try to twist the photo paper tray to the left or right so the stop lines up better with the guide recess. This worked for my printer tempoarily, but then things went out of allignment again, so I took a slightly more drastic step. With only a single sheet of photo paper in the tray, print another photo. When the photo tray slides back to deliver the paper to the rollers, unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer to stop the tray from moving forward again. With a pair of needlenose pliers, bend the lip on top of the metal paper stop upward. This fixed my problem permanently.

Paper feeder not working

That printer has a feed switch which changes from the top feeder to the drawer below, the little light tells you whether to put paper in the top or bottom. either make sure both are loaded or switch to the one that has paper.

Only 4x6 tray prints clearly

For this concern try pressing "copy+cancel" for media calibration then try again, make sure you have an A4 paper loaded. If this doesnt help you out try using the Kodak website www.kodak.com/go/itg and use "image quality" for class.

Kodak 5300 wont print on glossy side of photo paper

I just sussed this issue out. On the front of the printer tray there is another pull out tray, this opens up and must activate the photo printing for A4 because it stops the paper falling on the floor once printed (cos once printed on photo paper it may still be wet). As soon as I opened the tray (and it then opens again - you'll see what I mean) it printed A4 photo paper perfectly
Hope this helps others
